Your tailor-made holiday will be as unique as you are. These itineraries are just a starting point, a bit of inspiration to show what’s possible. Your own trip all starts with a conversation with one of our Morocco experts, who’ll take the time to understand what matters most to you and design the perfect holiday to match.
Our ‘Ultimate Morocco’ holiday is the adventure to choose if you want to tick all the boxes in Morocco. Cities, mountains, desert, oasis, and beaches are all part of this comprehensive itinerary, ensuring you'll return home knowing all there is to know about this North African treasure of a country. Start in the buzzing city of Marrakesh before heading up north with your very own driver guide, looping up from the capital of Rabat and the artistic gem of Asilah. Next up is coastal Tangier and the beautifully blue-hued town of Chefchaouen. From here, head to imperial city Fez for a good dose of ancient history before making the leap down to the Sahara desert, right at the top of anyone's Morocco bucket list, to spend a night under the stars. You'll then trace west through palm plantations and the 'land of 1000 kasbahs', up and over Atlas mountain passes, past the old capital of Taroudant, before finishing in pretty Essaouira for some well-earned beach time.
This is our biggest, most action-packed Morocco holiday, a real whirlwind of a three weeks. If you've got the time to spare, it's the perfect way to really get under the skin of the country, see the highlights, experience the lesser-seen sights and meet the people who make Morocco so special along the way. With your own expert driver-guide throughout, you'll have the freedom to explore at your pace, the insight of real local knowledge, and the support to make every moment count.
If you want to do it all – and do it properly – this is the trip for you.

Here's a summary of what you might get up to day-to-day on this Morocco holiday. As always, this is just an idea. Every single day of your holiday will be tailored to suit you.Â
After landing in the vibrant city of Marrakesh, your private driver will be waiting to greet you (with a smile!). You'll be transferred to your accommodation – we’d recommend either a peaceful riad in the medina or a spacious hotel in the peaceful Palmeraie if you fancy a quieter setting. Once checked in, enjoy a refreshing glass of mint tea and settle in for your first evening in Morocco. Tonight is yours to relax, soak up the atmosphere, and prepare for the adventure ahead.
Today, you’ll head off on a guided tour of Marrakesh’s historical treasures. Visit the intricately designed Saadian Tombs, hidden for centuries, before wandering through the Bahia Palace, a stunning example of Moroccan craftsmanship, with its ornate ceilings and tranquil courtyards. End the tour at the lively Jemaa el-Fnaa square, where snake charmers, street food stalls, and storytellers keep the spirit of old Marrakesh alive. Your brilliantly knowledgeable local guide will bring the city to life every chance they get today.
Â
Today is free for you to delve into the quieter, lesser-known corners of Marrakesh at your own pace. Stroll through the Jardin Majorelle, a peaceful sanctuary filled with exotic plants and vivid cobalt-blue sculptures. Or, head to the city’s souks to browse handcrafted wares and vibrant textiles. Our top tip is just to explore and don’t worry about getting lost – it’s all part of the experience! If you’re a bit of a foodie, chat to us about including a cooking class to learn the secrets of Moroccan cuisine, or simply relax in your riad’s courtyard with a good book.
Â
You’ll travel north to Rabat today, Morocco’s charming and often-overlooked capital city. Your afternoon is at leisure to visit the pretty Kasbah of the Udayas and explore the atmospheric, crumbling arches of the Chellah ruins, an ancient Roman and Islamic necropolis.Â
Â
Today, you’ll set out on a day trip to explore some of Morocco’s most historic sites. Begin at the Roman ruins of Volubilis, with its well-preserved mosaics and grand columns. Next, visit Meknes, an imperial city known for its magnificent gates and the striking Bab Mansour. Finally, stop in the sacred town of Moulay Idriss, perched on a hilltop, for a traditional lunch and a glimpse into this important pilgrimage site.
Today, you'll head to the port city of Tangier, a port city with a lovely European feel. We recommend visiting the Caves of Hercules, steeped in mythology, with breathtaking views over the sea, this afternoon. Afterwards, explore St. Andrew’s Church, a unique blend of Gothic and Moroccan design, before heading to the ancient kasbah.
Â
Your driver will take you through the lush landscapes of the Rif Mountains today. You’ll wind your way through the mountain landscapes via Mdiq and Tetouan, before continuing to Chefchaouen – Morocco’s iconic blue city. You’ll be in Chefchaouen for the next two nights, so settle into your accommodation and spend your evening wandering the serene, blue-washed streets to get your bearings.Â
Â
Today is yours to explore Chefchaouen at your own pace. Stroll through the medina’s narrow lanes, lined with vibrant markets and friendly locals. Take a hike into the Rif Mountains if you're feeling active, where there are plenty of peaceful trails, waterfalls and stunning viewpoints to make the steps more than worth it. As always, we can make the day more structured if you'd prefer some planned excursions. This evening, head to the Spanish Mosque to take in the gorgeous sunset views over the city.
Â
You’ll travel south to Fez today, Morocco’s cultural and spiritual heart. With a bit of luck, you’ll arrive with plenty of time to head out for your first taste of the city’s unique ambience and to get your bearings. Consider a walk through the lively medina to sample street food or browse local shops. The riad accommodation on offer in Fez is wonderful and will make for the perfect retreat to unwind and prepare for the days ahead.
Â
Over the next couple of days, you’ll have the chance to discover the real Fez, both under your own steam and with a brilliant local guide. Today, you'll head out on a guided tour of Old and New Fez (but both are hundreds of years old!). You'll wander the labyrinthine streets of the medina – the largest car-free urban area in the world – and visit the famed leather tanneries. Fez is a city where every corner reveals a new story, sight, sound or flavour, and your local guide will make sure you don’t miss a thing.Â
Â
You'll set off on a long but more-than-worth-it journey to the Sahara Desert today. As you edge closer to the impressive Erg Chebbi dunes, the landscape will transform into a sea of golden sand, and your slice of tented Saharan luxury awaits. Tonight you’ll head off on an unforgettable camel ride as the sun sets, before tucking into a traditional Berber dinner at your tented camp and spending the evening under the huge, expansive canopy of stars.
Â
Today, you’ll leave the desert sands behind and travel west through the dramatic Todra and Dades Gorges into the Ouarzazate region. The dramatic scenery and winding roads make for a truly unforgettable journey (one that you’ll want to make sure your camera is handy for!). Your destination is Skoura, a peaceful oasis town, where you’ll stay surrounded by lush palm groves and traditional kasbahs for the next two nights.
Your driver will pick you up this morning and drive you across the stunning Tizi n'Tichka pass, through the Atlas Mountains. You’ll make a stop at the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou along the way, a fortified village that has many film appearances to its name! Continue into the High Atlas, where you’ll stay in a traditional mountain retreat for the next couple of nights.
Â
Today is a day to explore the Atlas Mountains, meet the people who call the landscapes home and learn as much as you can about this different and unique way of life. Wonderful local guides can take you on a hike through Berber villages and beautiful valleys – something we couldn’t recommend more. Chat to us if you'd like some guided excursions arranged, or your hotel will be able to arrange local guides after check-in too. This insight into rural Moroccan life will be a highlight of your Morocco holiday.
Â
It’s time to leave the mountains behind and journey down into the Sous Valley to the historic old capital of Taroudant. Wander within its impressive fortified walls, through its lively souks with its impressive red-earth walls. Known as ‘Little Marrakesh,’ the city rose to prominence as the first capital of the Saadians and makes for a fascinating, lesser-visited stop off on your ultimate Morocco holiday.Â
Â
Today, you’ll head to your last stop, Essaouira, a breezy seaside town with a wonderful laid-back atmosphere. Stop at an argan oil cooperative on the way to learn all about this traditional craft from the local people who rely on it for their livelihoods. Once you make it to Essaouira, settle into your hotel for a few days of relaxation and downtime by the coast.Â
Spend your final couple of days exploring Essaouira at your own pace. Take a morning walk along the shoreline, sip mint tea at a café overlooking the sea, or wander through the UNESCO-listed medina to pick up unique souvenirs. Enjoy a leisurely seafood lunch at one of the bustling harbour cafés, where the catch of the day is always served fresh. In the afternoons, relax at your hotel or visit the Skala de la Ville, the city’s historic ramparts, for far-reaching views over the Atlantic. Plus, for a quirky sight, head slightly out of town to see the curious tree-climbing goats perched high in the branches of the argan trees. For your last evening, head to the port at sunset – it’s a beautiful way to see out your time in this charming coastal town.Â
Today, your driver will pick you up from your coastal hotel and drive you back to Marrakesh, ready for your return flight home. This ‘Ultimate Morocco’ holiday packs a serious punch and you’ll be leaving with a real insight into the magic, people, sights and history that make it such a special place. Until next time, Morocco!
