Your tailor-made holiday will be as unique as you are. These itineraries are just a starting point – a bit of inspiration to show what’s possible. Your own trip all starts with a conversation with one of our Morocco experts, who’ll take the time to understand what matters most to you and design the perfect holiday to match.
A mere three-hour flight across the Mediterranean, Morocco is a wonderful destination for families. The Moroccan people love children, and your young ones will conjure up smiles and relaxed attitudes as you travel around the country. The sights, sounds and smells of the souqs in Marrakesh will be fascinating for them, as will the bright colours of the Jardin Majorelle, where you can weave between the leafy walkways and spot terrapins in the ponds. If you don't fancy staying right in the thick of the medina, an oasis-like region called the Palmeraie, just outside the city, could be the perfect option for more space. Plus, there are some beautiful hotels to choose from here.
Thankfully, the Agafay Stone Desert and many hotels in the Atlas Mountains are only an hour or so from Marrakesh, so there are plenty of options for venturing away from the city, spending the night under the stars, followed by adventure with a stunning backdrop. The last stop on this Morocco family holiday is the relaxing coastal haven of Taghazout. With a long stretch of beach ideal for running around on or a camel ride if the kids want the whole Moroccan experience, it’s the perfect place to end your adventure. We’ve got so much experience designing family holidays to remember here at HA – we know how important it is to get things right. So do get in touch to chat through the options – your unforgettable family break is just a few conversations away.
Here's a summary of what you might get up to day-to-day on this Morocco holiday. As always, this is just an idea. Every single day of your holiday will be tailored to suit you.
Today you’ll land in Marrakesh, where your driver will be waiting to greet you with a warm smile and a private transfer to your hotel in the Palmeraie. Here, you’ll settle down for the night. This beautiful city lies on the outskirts of Marrakesh, perfectly lined by palm groves and panoramic views of the Atlas Mountains, making it a perfect retreat for some much-needed family R&R, away from the chaos of the medina. Relax with a mint tea, explore the gardens, or unwind by the pool as you prepare to immerse yourself in the ancient and modern world of Marrakesh.
Start your day with a vintage sidecar tour of the forgotten and unforgettable sights of Marrakesh with a local guide, who will take you through the ancient medina’s streets, historic landmarks, and tucked-away treasures. Your driver will guide you through unfamiliar territory, right to the heart of the community, and might even share a personal story or two as you go. Spend your afternoon at your own leisure, we'd recommend heading to Jardin Majorelle, perfect for both adults and children.
Enjoy your day by the pool in your peaceful Palmeraie retreat today. Early evening, you'll head into the medina again for a food tasting tour around the busy markets, ending up in the famous Jemaa el-Fna square. Doing this with a guide makes it a much easier experience when you have kids in tow!
Today, you’ll enjoy a day trip up into the beautiful landscapes of the Atlas Mountains. You’ll spend the day fully immersed in the authentic, local culture of rural Morocco, meeting amazing local people along the way – we’re sure it will be a highlight of your holiday. There are so many brilliant experiences to enjoy in the region. You could choose to take a leisurely hike through the surrounding landscapes, sit down to share a delicious traditional lunch at an Indigenous Berber family house, explore the quirky Amina Gardens nearby, or even put your cooking skills to the test at a hands-on Berber cooking class.
You'll venture out of Marrakesh today and head to Agafay Stone Desert to spend a night under the stars – a truly Moroccan experience! You'll enjoy a camel ride through the otherworldly landscape this afternoon before settling down for the night with a warm traditional Berber meal, for a magical highlight to any Morocco holiday.
After your night in the desert, you'll hop into your private transfer and head to the sleepy surfer town of Taghazout Bay, perched on the Atlantic Coast. You'll spend the next three nights relaxing here, soaking up the beauty of coastal Morocco. Taghazout Bay is known for its diverse waves, perfect for first-time surfers and those more confident in catching waves. Surf lessons or yoga classes can be easily arranged through your hotel.
On your final day in Morocco, we recommend heading to Agadir to explore Souk El Had, Africa’s largest urban market. With an overwhelming choice of exotic spices, textiles, ceramics, and handcrafted goods, it's perfect for picking up a one-of-a-kind souvenir before you head home tomorrow.
Your Morocco family holiday comes to an end today and you'll be picked up from your hotel in Taghazout and taken to Agadir Airport in time for your flight home. We hope this family holiday will be one to commit to the memory books!
