Ideas for your free time The small medina of Chefchaouen is great for wondering around and provides endless photo opportunities, with the surrounding mountains forming the perfect backdrop to the white-washed and blue-trimmed houses; it’s also a compact medina and there’s little chance of getting lost! Those mountains are also great for walks and treks: at the very least the short climb to the Spanish Mosque provides great views over the town. After exerting yourself, retire to the Plaza Uta al-Hammam to take a coffee and a pastry, and watch the world go by.
