Your nature walks will typically take place within the lodge grounds, where a specialist guide will take you on a short circuit in search of curious amphibians, plants, insects, and birds. Peru is a country of striking contrasts, from the dense and steamy jungles of the Amazon Basin to the rugged splendour and colourful historic towns of the high Andean plateau. If you are equally enthralled by wildlife as well as history and culture, then this is the journey for you. Despite these extremes of climate and culture, the two are easily combined via a very short internal flight for a diverse trip without too much internal travel.

Your holiday starts with a day to explore vibrant Lima’s historic centre and unwind on the coast. You then fly south-east to Puerto Maldonado, the most accessible gateway to Peru’s lush Amazon Basin, one of the most biodiverse regions on the planet. Colourful macaws, giant river otters, monkeys, reptiles, and amphibians are among the unique flora and fauna here at your riverside lodge. Then head to Cusco to explore its colonial splendour, scale the steps of the citadel at Machu Picchu, and relax in the beauty of the Sacred Valley.
