This scenic self-drive through Ontario is a great way to experience the variety this province has to offer, with iconic landmarks, peaceful parks, quirky cities and historic riverside towns. We've designed this to be a well-paced route with something new around every corner, and just the right mix of nature, culture and big-name highlights along the way.
You’ll start your journey in Toronto, Canada’s largest city, where there’s no shortage of great food, waterfront views and vibrant neighbourhoods to explore. From there, head south to Niagara Falls, where you'll feel the spray from the famous Horseshoe Falls up close. Then it’s on to Algonquin Provincial Park, staying in nearby Huntsville, where peaceful lakes, forest trails and chances to spot moose and beavers offer a proper taste of Canada’s great outdoors. Next, dive into the cultural and political heart of the country with a stay in Ottawa, home to grand architecture, riverside pathways and world-class museums. You’ll round off your trip in the charming 1000 Islands region, where a boat cruise on the St. Lawrence River is the perfect way to end this relaxed yet varied scenic circuit through Ontario.

This time we embarked on a fly/drive tour around the west of Canada and the holiday build was excellent. Our point of contact was Paul Turner. We received an initial itinerary based on Paul's local knowledge and experience, and then over 3-4 phone calls, we honed it down in detail to our requirements and his recommendations. Canada is like the Lake District on steroids and will blow you away, the roads are great to drive on and very well signed. The people very friendly and accommodating.
