Explore the neighbouring provinces of Alberta and British Columbia, starting with the vibrant city of Calgary, followed by Banff and Jasper National Parks, and British Columbia’s scenic interior, before arriving in the bustling city of Vancouver. The Rocky Mountaineer train will take you on a memorable journey through Canada’s diverse landscapes, passing through valleys, canyons, and mountain passes. Along the way, you’ll see forests, clear lakes, and the impressive peaks of the Canadian Rockies.
From Vancouver, you’ll set sail on a cruise heading north along Canada’s Pacific coastline into Alaska’s fjords and inlets. Over the course of eight days, you’ll take in the forested shores and glaciers before returning to Vancouver’s port.

Enjoy the fantastic scenery on the first full day of cruising, travelling through the Inside Passage. Just beyond the deck rails, the gems of Alaska are laid open in a spellbinding vista of rainforests, glaciers, fjords, and white-capped peaks. Along the way, it is common to view whales and sea lions at play along the coastlines, as well as a near-countless assortment of marine birdlife.
Cruise into the port of Ketchikan today, set along the shores of the Tongass Narrows, notable for its many shops and houses built suspended above the water. Known as the Salmon Capital of the World, this lively town is also home to Creek Street, the Tongass Historical Museum, Totem Bight State Park, and Saxman Village. The town is surrounded by natural wonders, inviting all visitors to embrace their wild side amidst the untamed Alaskan landscape.

We choose Holiday Architects so we have a chance to work with an expert on an region, who will combine their knowledge with listening to what we enjoy and are hoping to get out of a particular holiday. Paul really delivered on a wonderful trip to Canada for us this autumn. We had a brilliant balance between exploring cities and their culture and architecture, with some great opportunities to see beautiful fall landscapes and eat some amazing food thrown in for good measure. Highly recommended.

This time we embarked on a fly/drive tour around the west of Canada and the holiday build was excellent. Our point of contact was Paul Turner. We received an initial itinerary based on Paul's local knowledge and experience, and then over 3-4 phone calls, we honed it down in detail to our requirements and his recommendations. The actual holiday was excellent, everything went as planned with no hiccups. Canada is like the Lake District on steroids and will blow you away, the roads are great to drive on and very well signed. The people very friendly and accommodating. From my experience Holiday Architects have got the right model, they take the stress and time out of a lot of the planning, have excellent customer care, great follow up and very flexible with a budget you set them. Try them and I think you will agree.
