Your tailor-made holiday will be as unique as you are. These itineraries are just a starting point, a bit of inspiration to show what’s possible. Your own trip all starts with a conversation with one of our Morocco experts, who’ll take the time to understand what matters most to you and design the perfect holiday to match.
If you want to tick off all of Morocco’s must-dos in just one trip, this is the adventure for you. You'll take in the history, culture, city life, beaches and scenery that make Morocco the special place it is. As well as one of Morocco’s greatest draws – the magic of the Sahara Desert. We’ve designed this itinerary to take you on a whirlwind holiday around the country, providing a true crash course in all things Morocco along the way.
We’ll arrange a driver guide for sections of the trip that cover long distances so you can stop off wherever you please to take in fantastic views and swing by remote villages. There will also be plenty of time to do your own thing and relax too, especially at the end of the trip with a spot of beach time (you’re on holiday after all!). This tailor-made Morocco holiday idea is just the start, though. Every single holiday we design is unique and bespoke to you. Through conversations, we’ll learn more about you, what you’re most interested in and what’s really important – before using all of our first-hand experiences and country knowledge to weave together a holiday that’s perfect for you.
Here's a summary of what you might get up to day-to-day on this Jordan holiday. As always, this is just an idea. Every single day of your holiday will be tailored to suit you.
Today, you’ll arrive at Marrakesh Menara Airport, where you’ll be warmly welcomed and escorted to your riad within the walls of the iconic medina. Take a moment to settle in before heading out to get your bearings and your first glimpse of traditional Moroccan architecture and lifestyle.
Today, you’ll take on a half-day historical tour of Marrakesh’s 1000-year-old medina. This iconic UNESCO World Heritage Site is the perfect introduction to the dynamic city. Here, you’ll completely lose yourself in the enchanting medina walls - from snake charmers to steamy food stalls, the main square stays alive from sunrise to sundown. For the rest of the day, spend it at your leisure.
We've left today clear for you to explore Marrakesh at your own pace. Delve deeper into the city’s history, catch a bus to the Kasbah district and visit the Saadian Tombs, explore the old Jewish quarters and their treasured gems, or simply enjoy a leisurely stroll through the souks. If you'd like more of a structured day, there are plenty of other excursions we could arrange. There's an excellent 'Gardens and Museums tour' that we love, or we'd always recommend a cooking class to try your hand at some traditional Moroccan cooking.
Waving goodbye to Marrakesh today, it's time to transfer to the coastal capital of Rabat. Once there, check into your hotel before heading out to explore the breezy boardwalks, the charming medina, the Kasbah, and the ancient Chellah Roman ruins at your own pace.
Next up, you'll journey from the coast towards Morocco’s spiritual and cultural heart, Fez. Along the way, you'll stop to explore within the high defensive walls of Meknes, one of Morocco's Imperial Cities, and the Roman ruins at Volubilis. We also highly recommend a visit to Moulay Idriss, considered to be Morocco's holiest city, where you'll enjoy a traditional, hearty lunch. Though it’s a bit of a detour, it's more than worth the effort!
This morning, you’ll meet your guide for a full-day guided tour of the city. Starting in Fez el-Bali, the oldest part of the medina, we're huge advocates of getting a little bit lost down its myriad of never-ending narrow lanes. Cars aren't allowed in the old medina, so it really does feel a bit like stepping back in time. Later, you'll visit Fez el-Jdid, famous for its Royal Palace and Jewish influences.
Today, a long journey awaits, as you're driven to the far western edge of the iconic Sahara Desert. When you get to the other end, you'll swap the four wheels for a single-hump camel and travel off-road towards your Bedouin-style luxury tent for a night under the stars. Once you reach the campsite, hunker down for the night with the sweet sounds of traditional Berber music and a selection of grilled meats and salads, all beneath the starlit canopy.
After a good night’s rest under the stars, you’ll rise with the sun to witness what we hope will be the most magical sunrise over the dunes. If anything’s worth an early morning, it’s this. After the magic, you’ll indulge in a traditional Berber breakfast before heading west via the Todra Gorge, to spend the next two nights in the Ouarzazate region, stopping off at Skoura on the way.
Today, you’ll travel further west, arriving at the foothills of the Atlas Mountains for a two-night stay. The scenic route will take you through changing terrain, from rolling fields to mountain rivers. What awaits is a real and authentic peek into the day-to-day of traditional Berber life.
Lace up your walking boots for a full day of exploring the Atlas Mountains today. If you love the simplicity of nature, you’ll find plenty of hidden pockets of woodland and wildlife scattered across the region. There's an abundance of little Berber villages to explore, too, perfect for grabbing a refreshing cup of tea from a local Berber. Alternatively, you might choose to take the road less travelled with an off-road adventure in a 4x4. As with all of our Morocco holidays, we’ll recommend the best ways to spend your time based on our conversations during the planning process.
You'll trade the rugged hills of the Atlas Mountains for a beach break today as you travel to Essaouira for a two-night stay. This historic port city on Morocco’s Atlantic coast is renowned for its 18th-century medina, vibrant blue-and-white architecture, and relaxed seaside atmosphere. It's the perfect place to spend the last two days of your Morocco holiday.
