Your tailor-made holiday will be as unique as you are. These itineraries are just a starting point, a bit of inspiration to show what’s possible. Your own trip all starts with a conversation with one of our Morocco experts, who’ll take the time to understand what matters most to you and design the perfect holiday to match.
This is the ‘Holy Trinity’ of Morocco holidays. You’ll start your adventure with a good amount of time in Marrakesh, the beating heart of Morocco, where ancient souks, fragrant spice stalls, and colourful riads guarantee a sensory overload in the best way possible. Next up, head to the High Atlas Mountains for a few days of cool air, Berber culture and unforgettable mountain scenery. Finally, we’ve included some time to unwind by the coast in the pretty seaside town of Essaouira. In less than a fortnight, you can enjoy experiences as diverse as haggling in the souqs of Marrakesh, drinking mint tea with the locals in remote mountain villages and strolling along dramatic battlements overlooking the Atlantic.
These three destinations also have some of the best accommodation in Morocco, with a broad range of styles and budgets catered for. With transfer time being no more than three hours at a time, there also won't be too much of your holiday wasted on car journeys getting from place to place. We’d recommend a route similar to this if you've never been to Morocco before – it's an excellent introduction to a truly unique country.
Here's a summary of what you might get up to day-to-day on this Morocco holiday. As always, this is just an idea. Every single day of your holiday will be tailored to suit you.
Today marks the start of your adventure as you touch down in Marrakesh. Your friendly local guide will be there to greet you and drive you to the medina, where you will either stay in a traditionally styled riad or hotel in the quieter, breezier Palmeraie. As with every element of your holiday, we'll be sure to choose the spot best suited to you.
Today, you’ll get to know the rich history of Marrakesh on a guided tour of the city’s key sites. Visit the ornate Saadien Tombs, wander the ruins of the Badi Palace and admire the intricate architecture of the Bahia Palace. This afternoon is yours to explore the medina at your own pace – whether you want to dive into the souks, hunt down a rooftop café or simply soak up the atmosphere.
This morning, you'll have some free time to relax in your riad or before an afternoon of tasty adventures. You'll be guided around the souks of the medina for a tasting session by a local – a perfect opportunity to taste some of Morocco's specialities and enjoy the experience of dining with the locals in places few tourists visit. Try their traditional grilled meat tagines or opt for snail soup for a taste of something completely different. When night falls, you'll be catapulted into an unrivalled world of entertainment in Jemaa el-Fna. From musicians to fortune tellers, there's so much to see here.
After a sensory overload, you'll take things a little slower today and explore the more peaceful sides of the medina. Visit the food stalls and souks in the morning and immerse yourself in day-to-day life. If you're a fan of gardens, there's an excellent excursion that will take you to some of the city's hidden leafy corners. Alternatively, we can arrange another excursion for the more adventurous.
Wave goodbye to the bustle of the city, as today you'll be whisked away to the Atlas Mountains via private transfer (the journey usually takes between 1-2 hours). On the way, the scenery is ever-changing, and you'll have plenty of opportunities to stop off and take it all in. At the end of the drive, you'll check into your mountain accommodation for a three-night stay.
For the next two days, you’ll have time to explore this stunning region, meet the people and learn about Berber culture from the people who live it every day. We recommend lacing up your hiking boots and heading off on a trek to fully immerse yourself in the wildlife and natural surroundings. Explore a local Berber village and get lost (on purpose, of course) within the walls of the medina. If you'd like a more structured tour, just chat to us and we can recommend some brilliant local experiences for you.
Today, your Morocco holiday comes to an end. You'll be picked up by your private driver and driven back to Marrakesh in time to hop on your return flight home.
