Your foodie adventure kicks off with a flight from the UK to Amman, where you'll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel for a three-night stay. Depending on your arrival time, you might like to take a short stroll around the city and treat yourself to your first taste of Jordanian cuisine, or simply relax before your journey begins.
You'll start the day with a guided tour of Amman, exploring its key sites, including the Citadel, Roman Theatre, and bustling downtown markets. Later, you'll travel north to Jerash, one of the best-preserved Roman cities in the world. Walk along its colonnaded streets, see the impressive Oval Plaza, and step inside the magnificent Temple of Artemis. In the evening, you'll take part in a Jordanian cooking lesson, where you’ll learn how to prepare traditional dishes using authentic spices and techniques.
Head north today to St. George Winery, where you'll tour the vineyards, learn about Jordan’s winemaking traditions, and sample a selection of their wines. On the way back to Amman, you'll stop at Umm El-Jimal, a fascinating archaeological site believed to have been a Nabataean trading post. Walk among the basalt stone ruins, explore its ancient churches, and learn about the history of this lesser-visited but significant site.
You'll journey south along the historic King’s Highway, stopping first in Madaba to admire the famous mosaics, including the Madaba Map, the oldest surviving map of the Holy Land. Next, you'll visit Mount Nebo, where Moses is said to have glimpsed the Promised Land, and enjoy panoramic views over the Jordan Valley. Finally, you'll explore Kerak Castle, one of the most imposing Crusader fortresses in the Middle East. Later, you'll arrive in Petra, where you'll check in for a three-night stay.
Today, you'll head off on a guided tour of Petra, Jordan’s most famous archaeological site. Walk through the Siq Canyon, a narrow, winding passage that leads to the breathtaking Treasury, Petra’s most iconic monument. From there, you'll explore the Royal Tombs, the Colonnaded Street, and finish at the Qasr El Bint temple, one of the city’s most important religious sites.
You'll have the day free to revisit Petra at your leisure today. You might choose to explore the High Place of Sacrifice, visit the Byzantine churches, or hike up to the Monastery, a spectacular structure carved into the cliffs. Chat to us about the best ways to spend your day, we'd love to recommend some lesser-known spots that'll get you away from the crowds. This evening, you’ll join a cooking experience at Petra Kitchen, where local chefs will teach you how to prepare classic Jordanian dishes. Afterwards, you'll enjoy a delicious meal, sharing the dishes you’ve helped to create.
You'll start the day driving back along part of the King’s Highway today, passing over the Mujib Gorge, one of Jordan’s most dramatic landscapes. On the way, you’ll stop at the Dead Sea Panoramic Complex, which offers stunning views of the lowest point on Earth and provides insights into the region’s geology and history. Later, you’ll descend to the Dead Sea, where you'll check into your hotel for a two-night stay.
Today, you'll have a full day at leisure to unwind by the pool, enjoy a spa treatment, or float effortlessly in the Dead Sea’s mineral-rich waters. If you're interested in history, you can also visit Bethany-on-the-Jordan, the site where Jesus was baptised. In the evening, for a change of pace, you’ll take part in an Italian cooking and pizza-making class at the Jordan Valley Marriott, learning from expert chefs and enjoying your handmade meal afterwards.
You'll be transferred to Amman Airport today for your flight back to the UK. If time allows, enjoy a final morning by the Dead Sea, soaking up the peaceful atmosphere and your final taste of Jordanian food, before heading back to the airport in time for your flight home.
