Your tailor-made holiday will be as unique as you are. These itineraries are just a starting point – a bit of inspiration to show what’s possible. Your own trip all starts with a conversation with one of our Jordan experts, who’ll take the time to understand what matters most to you and design the perfect Jordan holiday to match.
To really experience Jordan at its most magical, sometimes it’s best to leave the car behind and explore on foot. This adventurous itinerary is perfect if you're looking to go beyond the usual highlights and see a different side of the country – one that unfolds slowly, trail by trail, and offers the kind of views and moments you can enjoy without the crowds.
Starting in Amman, you’ll head south to Petra, where you’ll spend time walking lesser-known back routes and trails through the ancient rose-red city, far beyond the standard tick-list sights. From there, head into the Wadi Rum, a vast desert of rust-red sand and towering rock formations, perfect for exploring on foot and simply soaking up the stillness of the place. The route then takes you north to Dana Biosphere Reserve, where you’ll spend three nights discovering Jordan’s most important ecological region, home to dramatic gorges, remote trails and rich biodiversity. Next up is the Mujib Biosphere Reserve, with a day to enjoy guided and self-guided canyon hikes, where you’ll wade, scramble and walk through spectacular slot canyons carved by water and time. Finally, you'll journey to the banks of the Dead Sea, where a couple of final nights of R&R and floating weightlessly in the waters are the perfect end to this adventurous Jordan holiday. This is Jordan with a real sense of adventure sprinkled in – a journey for those who like to dig a little deeper, stretch their legs, and discover the quieter, wilder corners of the country along the way.

You'll travel to Little Petra, a smaller but fascinating archaeological site that offers a great taste of what’s to come. From here, you'll embark on a scenic hike over the mountains, following the back route to Petra. Your journey will take you through rugged landscapes before arriving at The Monastery, one of Petra’s most impressive structures. This is an unforgettable moment in any Jordan holiday.
Today, you'll be picked up for a full-day tour of Petra. You'll walk through the Siq, a dramatic canyon that opens up to reveal the iconic Treasury, Petra’s most famous monument. From there, you'll continue exploring the heart of the site, passing the Royal Tombs and ending at the massive Qasr El Bint temple.
You'll head off on a journey to Wadi Rum today, one of the world’s most spectacular desert landscapes, for a two-night stay on the sands. When you arrive, you'll join a local Bedouin guide for a 4x4 jeep tour, venturing through the vast desert, past towering sandstone cliffs, ancient petroglyphs, and dramatic rock formations.

Once you reach the award-winning Feynan Eco-Lodge, you'll have the chance to explore the area further, including the old copper mines and ancient Byzantine settlements nearby.
Today, you'll have the day at your leisure to enjoy the activities available at Feynan Eco-Lodge. You can check the daily schedule, which includes guided hikes, cultural experiences with local Bedouin communities, and the most incredible stargazing once the sun goes down. We love it here, it's one of our favourite spots in the country.
You'll start the day driving back along part of the King’s Highway to the stunning Mujib Gorge today. When you arrive, check into your chalet for an unforgettable overnight stay, surrounded by the dramatic landscapes of Jordan’s lowest nature reserve.

We recently returned from a super holiday to Jordan, organised by Ian at Holiday Architects, and would not hesitate to recommend them. They organised (and re-organised) our schedule to include everywhere we wanted to go. We were so well looked after, from the moment our flight landed in Amman to when we checked in for our return flight. It was a memorable holiday. Thank you Jordan and Holiday Architects.

Had a fabulous week in Jordan thanks to Catherine from Holiday Architects. The itinerary was well planned with lots to see and do, but without feeling rushed at any point. We were well looked after by everyone right from arriving at the airport in Jordan to going the other way to come home. Jordan is a beautiful country with lovely people. We felt safe the whole time with no sign of any issues. So much history to learn about and amazing old cities to explore. A big thank you to Catherine for planning and organising a great holiday. I highly recommend Holiday Architects and look forward to my next adventure.

Our travel planner, Ian, did a truly wonderful job planning and organising our recent trip to Jordan. From start to finish we felt we were in experienced hands. All questions were addressed promptly and thoroughly. It was a wonderful holiday travelling though Jordan and seeing all the amazing archaeological and historical sites. The planning was thorough and this ensured that we did not have to worry at all about any aspect of the trip. We were simply able to sit back and enjoy the whole experience.

We travelled to Jordan for a week and it was a wonderful experience. Ian at Holiday Architects was extremely helpful and the agents on the ground could not have been more charming. The trip managed to be a combination of interesting and informative, and huge fun. The people were very welcoming and the food just heavenly. The whole experience was that rarity that actually exceeds expectations. We thoroughly recommend Jordan as a destination and will definitely choose Holiday Architects for trips in future.

Jordan was amazing. It was possible to visit so many different and wonderful places on a short trip, and we wished that we could have stayed longer. Highlights for us were staying in Wadi Rum, our camel ride at sunset, and the incredible desert landscapes; and of course, Petra, which we were lucky enough to see without the crowds. All the Jordanians we met - our guides and hotel staff - were without exception friendly and helpful; but our special thanks go to our wonderful driver, Subhi, who was excellent in every respect, who went out of his way to take us on routes he thought we might especially enjoy, and from whom we learnt so much. Thank you to Holiday Architects for arranging a great holiday, and for making us feel confident about travelling during Ramadan.

We’ve been lucky and have undertaken a number of organised/escorted trips to different countries through reputable agents, but this trip to Jordan booked and organised through Holiday Architects was the best we have ever undertaken. We can’t believe Jordan hasn’t been on our radar before now. What a country! You can probably travel extreme north to south in 5 hours and the change in scenery is amazing from lush green to deserts and wadis. There is a huge range of historical sites other than Petra to visit with some of the most preserved ruins we’ve seen. Jordan is amazing, the food is great and the people warm and welcoming. In Amman, people randomly thanked us for visiting their country and wished us a good trip. All this just 5 hours flight from the UK. We were very sad to leave and come home.
