Your tailor-made holiday will be as unique as you are. These itineraries are just a starting point, a bit of inspiration to show what’s possible. Your own trip all starts with a conversation with one of our Morocco experts, who’ll take the time to understand what matters most to you and design the perfect holiday to match.
With a plethora of palm-lined hotels, a breeze floating off the Atlantic, and a guarantee of sun almost every day in July, August and September, Morocco makes for a great summer holiday destination – if you don’t mind the heat! There’s no doubt that temperatures can climb very high in these summer months; it’s not unusual for it to hit 40°C or more in some parts of the country. But, as long as you have air-conditioning, plan your days well (that’s where we come in!) and have a pool handy for a refreshing dip when needed, then this makes for a great lazy getaway.
To help take the edge off the heat, we recommend starting with a couple of nights just outside Marrakesh, in the Palmeraie, which is more spread-out and ‘leafier’ than the centre of the city. Here you'll find larger properties with gigantic swimming pools, and you can pop into Marrakesh on day trips to experience it without having to spend too long in the dizzying heat of the packed medina. Follow this up with the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, where there are a handful of beautiful hotels boasting stunning gardens, pools and the most wonderful service. Head up to explore the traditional villages at higher altitude here (in an air-conditioned 4x4!) for a few degrees drop in the temperature and a huge amount of authentic culture.
This summer holiday to Morocco ends with five nights on the beach, where you can fall asleep to the sound of the ocean. The pretty little town of Taghazout is ideal for pottering around – the narrow streets were made for hot temperatures, so they provide plenty of shade to hop between as you explore. When you’ve had your fill of adventures, the shade of your tempting hotel sun lounger will be waiting – there are so many great hotels to choose from dotted along the coastline. Be sure to head out for an Agadir market visit or surf lessons during one of your days here, and spend the rest of your stay in a state of hazy relaxation, lapping up the summer sunshine.
Here's a summary of what you might get up to day-to-day on this Morocco holiday. As always, this is just an idea. Every single day of your holiday will be tailored to suit you.
You'll arrive in Marrakesh today, where you will be greeted by your private driver and driven a short 30 minutes to your unique stay in the peaceful Palmeraie on Marrakesh’s border. Here, many of the hotels have beautiful swimming pools and plenty of shady palms to lounge under. The perfect spot for those hotter summer months!
We've left today clear for you to enjoy your surroundings, soak up the sunshine, unwind and explore as much or as little as you wish. Start your day with a traditional breakfast of fresh pastries and locally sourced mint tea before heading to the poolside to claim a shady spot. It's worth treating yourself to a traditional hammam experience here, for a relaxing taste of Moroccan culture.
Today, you'll have plenty of time to lie back and enjoy the easy pace in Taghazout. Spend your day relaxing by the pool, strolling along the beach, or exploring the local shops. This small coastal town has everything you need, all in close proximity. Sit back at a seaside café and indulge in a fresh catch of the day straight off the shoreline.
Today, we can arrange a hike or swim to Paradise Valley, a beautiful oasis not far from Taghazout – if you're happy to walk in the heat, of course. Walk along palm-lined trails, waterfalls, and deep canyons, before cooling off with a dip in the valley’s natural pools, the perfect reward after a day of trekking in the summer sun.
Today, you might choose to relax at your hotel, or if you’re up for exploring a little further afield, many hotels in the area offer convenient shuttle services to Agadir. Home to one of the biggest souks in Morocco, Souk El Had, this sprawling market is perfect for souvenir hunting. Here, you can find all of Morocco's best bits, from spices and handmade ceramics to handcrafted textiles. After a spot of shopping, treat yourself to a bite to eat in an authentic café before heading back to Taghazout.
For your last full day in Morocco, we've left it clear for you to soak up the last of the sunshine, explore parts of the city you might not have ventured to yet, or even head up the coast where there are plenty of secret beach spots to find. As always, we're here to help guide you if you'd like a few more recommendations, just ask.
