Here's a summary of what you might get up to day-to-day on this Namibia holiday. As always, this is just an idea. Every single day of your trip will be tailored to suit you.
Expand All
Your adventure begins with an overnight flight from the UK to Johannesburg, ready to connect onward to Namibia’s wild south.
After a quick onward flight from Johannesburg, you'll arrive in Windhoek, where you’ll be met and transferred into the city to collect your hire car. After a full briefing on the car, a chat through the route and plenty of tips on what it’s like to drive in Namibia, you’ll hit the road for your first scenic drive over the spectacular Gamsberg Pass and into the Naukluft Mountains for a one-night stay.
Today, you’ll continue your drive south into the Tsaris Mountains, a lesser-known corner of the Namib-Naukluft region. This is remote, raw and real Namibia, all sculpted rock, sparse vegetation and endless space.
Whether you’re a keen hiker or just fancy a gentle ramble, this area is full of rewarding trails. You might also want to join a nature drive to spot wildlife adapted to these arid landscapes, or simply enjoy the silence and stars.
You’ll head further south today to the vast, protected expanse of the Namibrand Nature Reserve. You’ll be staying at one of southern Namibia’s most exclusive camps, it’s seriously special and one of our favourites. It really is the kind of place where you feel a million miles away from normal life, you're really in Namibia now!
Your luxury stay includes two guided activities per day. Whether you choose a nature walk, a scenic drive, or something else, there are plenty of adventures to be had here. And plenty of sundowner spots along the way! The desert scenery is jaw-dropping, and the lack of light pollution here makes for world-class stargazing, so don't forget to look up after the sun goes down.
After a delicious breakfast, it’s time to drive north to the Sossusvlei area for a two-night stay. You’ll be based close to the towering dunes and striking salt pans of the Namib Desert, with the freedom to explore the region independently or book a guided tour, chat to us about what might suit you best.
This region deserves a full day of exploring, so that’s what we’ve given it. You’ll climb Dune 45, walk the eerie white clay pan of Dead Vlei, and wander through the natural rock formations of Sesriem Canyon. You'll want to remember your camera today, it's an iconic region of Namibia for a reason!
Today’s drive leads you north along scenic desert roads to Swakopmund, a quirky coastal town with German colonial history. There's plenty of great seafood on offer here, and easy access to a whole host of desert and ocean adventures. You’ll check in for a two-night stay in a relaxed, no-frills guesthouse.
You’ve got a full day to choose your own adventure today. Go quad biking on the dunes, take a catamaran cruise to spot dolphins, or head out to remote Sandwich Harbour for one of the most dramatic coastal drives in Africa. As always, we’re here to make sure your holiday is perfect for you, so chat to us about what might suit your interests and your wish lists best.
You'll drive back east today to Windhoek, a journey of around four hours. Settle into your final guesthouse and enjoy a relaxed afternoon. You might want to head out to explore the capital a little, if so, ask us for some recommendations! Or, just put your feet up and toast your new found love of Namibia.
After a tasty breakfast, it’s time to drive to the airport and drop off your hire car before boarding your short flight to Johannesburg. In Johannesburg, you’ll board your connecting overnight flight home.

We have just returned from an amazing 3 weeks in Namibia. What a beautiful country - the scenery is breathtaking and so varied. Wildlife truly amazing, the people so friendly and the food and wine far too good !! Kirsty gave us such good ideas based on her personal experience. From the first iteration she took us through different options (very patiently !) until we came to one that matched our wishes perfectly. Her suggestions of where do stay were spot on and we enjoyed some fantastic locations. The organisation of cars, outings and the brilliant detailed itinerary made the whole trip so relaxed. When (not if !) we return to Namibia we will be back in touch with Kirsty. A very big thank you to her and all the support team in Namibia for making this our best ever holiday.

This was our first time using Holiday Architects and I really can't recommend them highly enough! We had an amazing trip to Namibia which felt like it had been tailor-made for us. Kirsty was so helpful in listening to our outline plans and set up a wonderful intinerary for us. The coordination between HA and their local agents felt like it was seamless, we had so much local information and support if needed while we were away. The whole experience was just fabulous, Namibia is just so beautiful and each place we stayed seemed to have unique qualities. I really can't thank HA (and particularly Kirsty) enough for their attention to detail and customer care.

We have recently returned from our 3rd trip to Namibia organised by Holiday Architects, this time visiting the Zambezi region. Yet again an incredible holiday, thoughtfully organised by the very knowledgeable Kirsty. Can’t recommend Holiday Architects, Kirsty and Namibia highly enough. Now to find the bits we have missed to justify a 4th visit!

We have just returned from a two week holiday in Namibia booked through Holiday Architects. The holiday was absolutely fantastic, too many highlights to mention. The organisation and planning by H.A. was flawless- everything went like clockwork. Kirsty Leggate was excellent providing a very high quality personalised level of service. The agents HA worked with on the ground in Namibia were also excellent. Superb experience very highly recommended.

We have just returned from 2 weeks in Namibia organised by Kirsty at Holiday Architects. Kirsty was very knowledgable and put together the perfect itinerary for us. We were self-driving which was quite an adventure (some roads in Namibia are interesting), however we felt really well supported throughout with excellent local contacts. We gave Kirsty quite a difficult brief as we had to arrange this holiday at short notice on specific dates but Kirsty was able to include all we wanted to do including the Swakopmund parkrun. The organisation was seamless and the communication excellent. Altogether superb. Definitely recommend.
