In addition to picturesque nature drives, the varied terrains and relative lack of potentially dangerous animals in the Namibrand make it a first class walking destination. You can either set out on a hike under your own steam or with a guide, but there is no requirement for an armed scout, unlike with African safaris where big game and predators are a more significant presence. Walks will tend to take place in areas close to camp, and we found exploring the vast plains and climbing the kopjes around Boulders Camp to be particularly rewarding. Alternatively, your nature drive may be punctuated with a stop to climb a high dune and enjoy panoramic views down to a valley below. With the regular supply of superb food on offer at Wolwedans and Sossusvlei Desert Lodge, we would definitely recommend getting out on foot to walk some of it off!
We offer tailor-made holidays to suit a wide range of tastes. Our expert Kirsty is dedicated to all things Namibia and is here to help you plan your perfect trip.
