Your tailor-made holiday will be as unique as you are. These itineraries are just a starting point – a bit of inspiration to show what’s possible. Your own trip all starts with a conversation with one of our Cambodia experts, who’ll take the time to understand what matters most to you and design the perfect Cambodia holiday to match.
Short on time or working with a tighter budget? We've designed this 10-day Cambodia holiday to pack in the key highlights without cutting corners, all whilst keeping things as economical as possible. With two full days in Siem Reap, you'll have time to explore the incredible temples of Angkor Wat and Ta Prohm, as well as get a real feel for this lively little town. From there, travel to Phnom Penh for a deeper look at Cambodia’s recent history. A visit to the Killing Fields and Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum offers a moving and important insight into the Khmer Rouge era – an experience that'll really stay with you.
You’ll round things off in the laid-back riverside town of Kampot. It’s the perfect spot to slow down, sample local pepper, cycle through the countryside or simply relax with a cold drink by the river.
We’ve included clean, comfortable 3-star hotels throughout – ideal for a trip that’s both memorable and affordable. If you fancy a little more comfort along the way, though, just let us know. We can easily upgrade a few hotels or tweak the itinerary to fit your wishlist. Want to add a stopover or extend your time in Cambodia? No problem. Get in touch and we’ll help shape the trip into something that works perfectly for you (and your budget).
Here's a summary of what you might get up to day-to-day on this Cambodia holiday. As always, this is just an idea. Every single day of your holiday will be tailored to suit you.
You’ll leave the UK this evening and fly overnight to Siem Reap, where your Cambodia adventure begins.
Welcome to Cambodia! When you arrive in Siem Reap, you’ll be met at the airport by your smiling guide for a private transfer to your hotel. With the rest of the day free for whatever takes your fancy, you could venture out for a stroll around the city to stretch your legs and perhaps visit the evening market for your first taste of local food and to see the various crafts on offer.
Today is sure to be a highlight as you’ll head off to discover some of Cambodia’s most iconic temples. This morning, you’ll visit atmospheric Ta Prohm, where towering fig and banyan trees have wrapped themselves around the ancient ruins. This afternoon, you’ll continue to the magnificent Angkor Wat, one of the largest religious monuments in the world and a must-visit for any Cambodia holiday. You’ll have plenty of time to wander the intricately carved corridors and soak up the scale of this 12th-century masterpiece. Your private guide (and all of the insider knowledge!) will be with you all day, so the timings are flexible and the pace can be tailored to suit you.
You’ll explore Siem Reap at your own pace today. Perhaps do a bit more sightseeing around the city, take a food tour, or treat yourself to a local massage. Alternatively, venture further afield and take a boat trip past the stilted villages on the beautiful Tonle Sap Lake, or visit the elephant sanctuary at Kulen. Chat to us about what might take your fancy, as always, we’re here to design a Cambodia holiday that’s perfect for you.
Today you’ll transfer to Phnom Penh, stopping at Naga Bridge and the busy market town of Skoun en route. Skoun is known locally as 'spiderville' thanks to its famous fried spiders and other insects sold at the market - tasting isn’t compulsory – but, if you’re brave enough, we can’t wait to hear what you think!
You’ll visit the sobering Tuol Sleng Prison (S-21) and the Killing Fields at Choeung Ek today, both sites used by the Khmer Rouge regime when they ravaged the country in the 1970s and 1980s. Whilst the visits are sombre, understanding this recent history will give you such a valuable insight into present-day Cambodia. And a fresh perspective and appreciation of just how special and resilient the Cambodian people are.
Today you’ll be whisked off with a private transfer to Kampot for a two-night stay. Enjoy a sunset stroll along the river before settling into your hotel for the evening.
You’ve got a full free day in Kampot today. We recommend an early morning visit to the fish market for a taste of local life, then afterwards perhaps visit Trey Kho to see the salt fields and pagoda, ride up to Bokor National Park, take a river cruise, or visit the local market. There’s plenty to keep you busy today! Chat to us about how to make the day perfect for you.
After a leisurely breakfast and one last morning in Kampot, you'll meet your driver who will transfer you to the airport in time for your flight home.
