Your tailor-made holiday will be as unique as you are. These itineraries are just a starting point – a bit of inspiration to show what’s possible. Your own trip all starts with a conversation with one of our Cambodia experts, who’ll take the time to understand what matters most to you and design the perfect Cambodia holiday to match.
'Best of Cambodia' is exactly what it says on the tin. This classic 13-day holiday brings together the country’s most iconic sights with a few standout experiences and just the right amount of downtime. It’s a brilliant route for first-timers, with a lovely balance of temples, countryside, culture and coast.
You’ll start in Siem Reap, where ancient temples and rural life take centre stage. Explore the grand architecture of Angkor Wat, cycle past rice paddies and visit a stilted village on Tonle Sap Lake. You’ll also have time to visit the Kulen Elephant Forest, a peaceful home for rescued elephants where you can walk alongside them in their natural environment. From there, head south to the peaceful countryside of Kampong Chhnang, where your stay at the Smiling Gecko Farmhouse gives a glimpse into local life and sustainable community work. Next, it’s on to Phnom Penh, where you’ll explore both the grandeur of the Royal Palace and the moving stories of the country’s more recent past. A street food tour by tuk tuk adds a lively, local flavour to your time in the city. To round it all off, you’ll finish with a few days on the island of Koh Rong. Turquoise waters, white sand beaches and no fixed plans – just time to relax, reflect, and soak up the sunshine.

Expand All
You’ll depart from the UK on your overnight flight to Siem Reap, Cambodia. If you’re flying from elsewhere or arranging your own flights, just let us know and we’ll make sure the land arrangements are all taken care of and fit your needs perfectly.
Touch down in Siem Reap today, where your smiling local guide will be waiting to meet you at the airport. You’ll transfer privately to your hotel and have the rest of the day free to settle in and relax. Depending on your arrival time, you might want to take a wander through town or just unwind by the pool.
This morning, you’ll head out to the countryside to visit Tonle Sap Lake, home to floating villages, stilted houses, and local fishing communities. You’ll take a scenic boat trip and enjoy lunch in a traditional family home – a brilliant insight into rural life. This evening, you'll experience Phare, the Cambodian Circus, a vibrant performance created by a social enterprise supporting young performers. It’s a must-see and an evening that’ll be a highlight of your trip for sure.
Today’s all about temples – and it’s going to be a big one. You’ll start early at Ta Prohm, where the jungle is reclaiming the ruins, before heading to Angkor Thom and the intricate Bayon Temple. In the afternoon, you’ll explore the awe-inspiring Angkor Wat, the largest religious monument in the world. With your guide alongside, there’s flexibility to go at your own pace, and you'll learn a lot as you go!
An unforgettable day awaits as you head to Kulen Elephant Forest. Here, you’ll walk with these rescued elephants through their forest sanctuary, feed them snacks, and learn about the conservation work being done to protect them. After a relaxed family-style lunch, you’ll head back to your hotel for the rest of the afternoon at leisure.
You’ll head off this morning by private transfer to Kampong Chhnang, travelling through the Cambodian countryside with a stop along the way at the historic Naga Bridge – a rarely visited sandstone bridge dating back to the Angkor period. By early afternoon, you’ll arrive at the peaceful Farmhouse Resort & Spa by Smiling Gecko, your base for the next two nights.
Smiling Gecko is more than just a place to stay – it’s a social enterprise project that supports sustainable tourism, education, and employment for local families. Set on an organic farm with wide open views, a stunning infinity pool, and its own in-house culinary school, it offers a genuine slice of rural Cambodia. You’ll have time to relax, enjoy the serene surroundings, or even take a wander around the working farm and see some of the community projects in action.
You’ve got a full day to slow down and enjoy rural Cambodia today. We’d really recommend joining one of the local tours or experiences offered by the farm for a meaningful insight into local life. Or simply choose to relax in the peaceful surroundings. This is a chance to switch off and soak up the landscape.
After a relaxed morning, you’ll travel south to Phnom Penh, arriving in the afternoon. Later, hop in a local tuk-tuk and set off on a guided street food tour. You’ll try everything from stir-fried corn to grilled local delicacies, before ending the evening sipping on a cocktail at a hidden-away street bar.
Today you’ll tour the capital with a brilliant local guide. Start with the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda, and the National Museum before heading to Wat Phnom for views across the city. In the afternoon, visit the sobering sites of Tuol Sleng (S-21) and the Killing Fields – important and powerful places that help make sense of Cambodia’s recent history.
It’s time for the beach. You’ll be driven south to Sihanoukville before boarding a shared speedboat to the island of Koh Rong. Once you’ve checked into your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to relax in paradise.
You have two blissful full days to kick back and enjoy island life. You can relax on the white sand beaches, go snorkelling, take a kayak out, or just snooze under the palms. Total freedom to do as much or as little as you like, this is a holiday after all!
This morning, you’ll take the boat back to the mainland and transfer to Phnom Penh Airport in time for your flight home. Hopefully with a camera full of memories, a head full of stories and a little place in your heart for Cambodia.

We have just returned from a wonderful trip to Cambodia and Vietnam. Our destination Manager was Lisa Jankus-Scott who patiently organised and re-organised our itinerary whilst we changed our minds and plans - more than once! She gave us some really helpful advice too, supported by further valuable information from HA. We had been recommended to HA by a friend and very glad that we were.

We had THE BEST holiday we could have wished for! Literally everything was sooo interesting and fun and we were so well looked after both in Cambodia and Vietnam. Both our local guides were absolutely brilliant! They were always on time, so friendly and super enthusiastic about their respective countries. They were very happy to share fascinating facts about their culture, their families, their day to day lives and we learnt so much more than we could ever have found out had we travelled alone. Thank you Fenton for all your hard work and support. We shall be saving up and hopefully using Holiday Architects again!

Not long back from a wonderful trip to Cambodia. Lisa from HA was a great help in tailoring the holiday to our requirements and everything went very smoothly with the local guides and drivers through Exo travel. We stayed in some lovely boutique hotels particularly memorable in Siem Reap, Battambang and the Cardamom mountains where the service and friendliness of the staff was excellent without being obsequious. Thoroughly recommend HA.

Thank you Lisa for organising what I can only say was an amazing holiday. From the moment we were greeted at Siem Reap airport to leaving 18 days later it was faultless. The guides were great -informative, helpful and clearly passionate about their beautiful country . The itinerary was perfect -history , culture, food tasting , jungle, glamping on floating tents , beach . There was not one part we would have changed but highlights were the early morning cycling through the temples at Angkor, Vespa street food tour, elephant sanctuary, Cardamom mountain tented camp ( night trek) and finally arriving at Pagoda beach to relax. This holiday was to celebrate my 60th birthday and thanks to you for making it so special and memorable.

The whole booking process was really good with Lisa very quickly understanding our aims for the holiday. We wanted to see "real life" and the various trips including the Vespa street food experience in Siem Reap and the local bike tour in Battambang, amongst others hit the mark. The guides we had were excellent with good English and local knowledge. The guides too were great with stopping at local markets etc. All the arrangements, flights, transfers , hotels etc went without a glitch the whole trip. Highly recommended.
