Perched atop a knoll overlooking a river valley, and in turn overlooked by the vast, jagged teeth of the High Atlas, Kasbah Angour is a purpose-built mountain retreat, constructed in very traditional style and to a very high standard. Beautiful carved wooden doors, ornate brass lamps and smooth tadlakht (plaster) walls are very typically Moroccan; a nice variation from many similar hotels across the country is the use of local red sandstone which makes a pleasing contrast in the construction. The rooms are simply and attractively furnished: comfortable and unpretentious, whilst the grounds are pretty extensive and offer plenty of shady spots to relax and unwind in some privacy.
