Spring is one of the loveliest times to visit Jordan. The weather is warm but comfortable, the landscapes are lush, and the hills and valleys are alive with so much colour. From blooming black irises in the north to wildflower-lined trails in the south, we’ve designed this itinerary to take you through Jordan’s natural highlights at their seasonal best, with a good dose of history, wildlife and adventure sprinkled in along the way.
Your tailor-made holiday will be as unique as you are. These itineraries are just a starting point – a bit of inspiration to show what’s possible. Your own trip all starts with a conversation with one of our Jordan experts, who’ll take the time to understand what matters most to you and design the perfect Jordan holiday to match.
You’ll start in Amman, exploring the Roman ruins of Jerash and the green woodlands of Ajloun Forest Reserve – home to oak, pistachio and pine, and dotted with spring blooms. Next, you'll travel down the King’s Highway to Dana Biosphere Reserve, one of Jordan’s most beautiful natural areas, where you can hike, spot wildlife, and learn all about local Bedouin traditions.
Next, it’s on to Petra – an undeniable highlight, where you’ll have time to take in the big sights as well as some quieter corners. After exploring the ancient city, head south to the wide-open sands of Wadi Rum, before ending your trip by the Red Sea in Aqaba. As well as being a great spot for snorkelling or relaxing on the beach, spring brings a wave of migratory birds through the region, so it’s a brilliant time to visit the Aqaba Bird Observatory, too.
If you’re looking for a trip that combines wild nature, local culture, ancient sites and springtime colour, this is a beautifully balanced way to experience Jordan at its most beautiful.

Your Jordan holiday begins with a flight from the UK to Amman, where you'll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel for a two-night stay. Depending on your arrival time, you might want to head straight out to explore the city a little, or simply relax and grab some dinner after your journey.
Spend the morning touring Jerash, one of the best-preserved Roman cities in the world. Walk along its colonnaded streets, visit the grand temples and theatres, and imagine life here over 2,000 years ago. From here, continue to Ajloun to visit its imposing Arab castle, built in the 12th century to defend against Crusader forces. Also nearby is the Ajloun Forest Reserve, a beautiful area of rolling hills and Mediterranean woodland. Take a short walk along its scenic trails, which wind through oak, pine, and pistachio trees, offering a glimpse of the diverse plant life in this protected reserve.
You’ll travel south along the historic King’s Highway today, stopping first at Madaba to see its famous Byzantine mosaics, including the remarkable Madaba Map, the oldest surviving map of the Holy Land. Next, you'll visit Mount Nebo, where Moses is said to have viewed the Promised Land, before continuing to Dana. This evening, settle into your accommodation and take in the spectacular views over the vast canyon below.
We've left today clear for you to explore Dana Nature Reserve at your own pace. The reserve is one of Jordan’s most ecologically rich areas, home to diverse wildlife, dramatic landscapes, and well-maintained hiking trails. Check the daily schedule of activities, which includes guided hikes through the wildflower-filled valleys or immersive experiences with the local Bedouin community. If you're interested in Jordan’s rural traditions, you might want to join a cultural workshop, learning about traditional crafts or the region’s unique agricultural practices.
You'll leave Dana this morning and continue your journey south towards Petra. Along the way, you'll visit Little Petra, a smaller but equally fascinating archaeological site with rock-cut tombs, temples, and ancient frescoes. This lesser-visited site provides a taste of what’s to come in Petra, giving insight into the daily lives of the Nabataeans. Later, you'll check into your hotel in Petra for a two-night stay.
This morning, you’ll meet your guide for a tour of Petra, beginning with the walk through the Siq Canyon, a narrow and winding gorge that dramatically opens up to reveal the Treasury Tomb, one of the most breathtaking sights in Jordan. From there, you'll explore Petra’s vast archaeological site, passing tombs, ancient streets, and the remains of grand temples. Your guide will finish the tour at the Qasr El-Bint temple, one of Petra’s most important structures. After the tour, you’ll have free time to explore further at your own pace, perhaps stopping at the nearby Basin Restaurant for refreshments before setting off to visit more hidden corners of this ancient city.
After a leisurely morning in Petra, you'll leave for Wadi Rum, Jordan’s iconic desert landscape. When you arrive, you'll head off on a jeep tour with your very own local Bedouin guide, driving through towering sandstone mountains, past dramatic rock bridges, and across red sand dunes. After experiencing the beauty of this unique desert, you'll continue your journey south, arriving in Aqaba in the late afternoon, where you’ll check in for a two-night stay.
Today is yours to enjoy however you wish. Relax on the beaches of Aqaba, where you can swim in the Red Sea’s warm waters, or try your hand at water sports such as snorkelling or diving. For more of a taste of Jordan’s nature, you might fancy a visit to the Aqaba Bird Observatory, an important stopover for migratory birds – especially during the spring months – or take a short boat trip to explore the vibrant coral reefs along the coast.
This morning, you'll be transferred to Aqaba Airport for your flight home, marking the end of your journey through Jordan’s flower-filled landscapes, historic cities and beautiful coastline.

We recently returned from a super holiday to Jordan, organised by Ian at Holiday Architects, and would not hesitate to recommend them. They organised (and re-organised) our schedule to include everywhere we wanted to go. We were so well looked after, from the moment our flight landed in Amman to when we checked in for our return flight. It was a memorable holiday. Thank you Jordan and Holiday Architects.

Had a fabulous week in Jordan thanks to Catherine from Holiday Architects. The itinerary was well planned with lots to see and do, but without feeling rushed at any point. We were well looked after by everyone right from arriving at the airport in Jordan to going the other way to come home. Jordan is a beautiful country with lovely people. We felt safe the whole time with no sign of any issues. So much history to learn about and amazing old cities to explore. A big thank you to Catherine for planning and organising a great holiday. I highly recommend Holiday Architects and look forward to my next adventure.

Our travel planner, Ian, did a truly wonderful job planning and organising our recent trip to Jordan. From start to finish we felt we were in experienced hands. All questions were addressed promptly and thoroughly. It was a wonderful holiday travelling though Jordan and seeing all the amazing archaeological and historical sites. The planning was thorough and this ensured that we did not have to worry at all about any aspect of the trip. We were simply able to sit back and enjoy the whole experience.

We travelled to Jordan for a week and it was a wonderful experience. Ian at Holiday Architects was extremely helpful and the agents on the ground could not have been more charming. The trip managed to be a combination of interesting and informative, and huge fun. The people were very welcoming and the food just heavenly. The whole experience was that rarity that actually exceeds expectations. We thoroughly recommend Jordan as a destination and will definitely choose Holiday Architects for trips in future.

Jordan was amazing. It was possible to visit so many different and wonderful places on a short trip, and we wished that we could have stayed longer. Highlights for us were staying in Wadi Rum, our camel ride at sunset, and the incredible desert landscapes; and of course, Petra, which we were lucky enough to see without the crowds. All the Jordanians we met - our guides and hotel staff - were without exception friendly and helpful; but our special thanks go to our wonderful driver, Subhi, who was excellent in every respect, who went out of his way to take us on routes he thought we might especially enjoy, and from whom we learnt so much. Thank you to Holiday Architects for arranging a great holiday, and for making us feel confident about travelling during Ramadan.

We’ve been lucky and have undertaken a number of organised/escorted trips to different countries through reputable agents, but this trip to Jordan booked and organised through Holiday Architects was the best we have ever undertaken. We can’t believe Jordan hasn’t been on our radar before now. What a country! You can probably travel extreme north to south in 5 hours and the change in scenery is amazing from lush green to deserts and wadis. There is a huge range of historical sites other than Petra to visit with some of the most preserved ruins we’ve seen. Jordan is amazing, the food is great and the people warm and welcoming. In Amman, people randomly thanked us for visiting their country and wished us a good trip. All this just 5 hours flight from the UK. We were very sad to leave and come home.
