Alto Atacama Desert Lodge & Spa

Located a few kilometres from the ancient trading town of San Pedro, the Alto Lodge & Spa is a true pinnacle of desert relaxation. The area is remarkably peaceful, and the hotel's impressive views extend out towards the Cartarpe Valley and Salt Mountains. The adobe clay construction of the building and its cool interior seamlessly blends with the surrounding desert, while the spacious grounds are filled with leafy walkways and trickling pools. Earthen adobe walls are lined with local artwork and warm fabrics, giving a feel of understated luxury at every turn. The Alto Lodge has plenty of quirky touches that make the truly unique, such as the open-air mineral museum as well as resident grazing llamas. The surrounding area can be explored on foot or by a complimentary hire of an on-site bicycle and a minimum three-night stay includes return car transfers from Calama Airport.
