Salar de Atacama (Salt Flats) in Chile

Drive the hour south to the charming village of Toconao to see the pretty town square where local artisans selling their wares, as well as the historic church. Next stop is the Natural Flamingo Reserve, which is often teeming with the parading pink birds. The reserve is inside the salt flats, where you'll explore the trails and learn about the birdlife and their feeding habits before finding a spot to enjoy one of the area's spectacular and colourful sunsets. The excursion will last roughly five hours, including transfers.
