Excursion Overview
Head west of San Pedro de Atacama towards the town of Calama until you reach Rainbow Valley, part of the Domeyko Mountains. Here you’ll find an array of coloured rocks, formed from various minerals and natural erosion in the area. After a short stroll around the valley, continue your journey to Hierbas Buenas, where you’ll see many petroglyphs of archaeological and historical significance.
