Your tailor-made holiday will be as unique as you are. These itineraries are just a starting point, a bit of inspiration to show what’s possible. Your own trip all starts with a conversation with one of our Oman experts, who’ll take the time to understand what matters most to you and design the perfect holiday to match.
If you’re looking for an Oman holiday with a real sense of adventure, this self-drive itinerary is a brilliant place to start. Over 12 days, you’ll explore dramatic mountain trails, rolling desert dunes, and a rugged coastline that’s teeming with marine life – all with the freedom to travel at your own pace and plenty of time to soak up the scenery along the way.
We’ve mixed things up with a blend of wild camping, desert stays, and handpicked hotels, so there’s a great balance of comfort and exploring. You’ll hike along the rim of Oman’s Grand Canyon, snorkel the coral-rich waters of the Dimaniyat Islands, sleep under the stars on Jebel Shams, wind your way through Wadi Bani Khalid and even camp right on the sands of Fins Beach. It’s active, outdoorsy, and packed with variety, but still leaves space to slow down, breathe, and enjoy the stillness of the landscape.
If you love the idea of getting off the beaten track but still want a bit of comfort along the way, this itinerary gives you the best of both worlds. By mixing nights under canvas with stays in affordable (yet lovely!) hotels, this trip offers the perfect way to see Oman in all its natural glory.
