If you are a glutton for steep climbs, then the aptly-named High Place of Sacrifice should be on your schedule. Located atop a shoulder of high ground in the central area of the city, it enjoys fabulous views over the Roman street and surrounding temples. The second part of the name of this spot comes from the altars carved into the rock, complete with channels and drains for taking away the blood from the animal sacrifices the Nabataean priests made up here.
