Cavas Wine Lodge’s owners Cecilia and Martin are heavily involved in the day-to-day running of this beautiful property. A member of Relais & Chateaux, the service and style here are top notch and the atmosphere is one of privacy and romance. The lodge is in Agrelo, half an hour south of Mendoza, known for its beautiful landscapes and some of the most celebrated wineries in Argentina. Dining and wine-pairing is key here with a restaurant serving signature regional seasonal cuisine and a wine cellar bursting with carefully selected local wines. Wine-tastings and private dinners can be arranged on request as can picnic baskets for an alfresco lunch.

All the stand-alone guest rooms and villas face the Andes and are surrounded by vineyards, great for sunset views and star-gazing. Each has a private roof terrace, plunge pool, outdoor shower and woodburning fireplace. When you can bear to tear yourself away from your private suite, there is a main pool and a cosy living room filled with books as well as a great spa that offers some wine therapy treatments. And of course the staff are on hand to arrange visits to the many local wineries, horse-back riding or a cooking class.
