River Dance Lodge

RiverDance lodge is one of our favourite places to stay along the Caprivi strip, and as is so often the case, credit must go to the owner-managers and their staff, who are always on hand to provide a warm welcome and knowledgeable advice.

There are only a handful of rooms (including a larger room suitable for families) and they are all individually (but tastefully) decorated with their own bathrooms a short walk from the room itself - with a bath and shower. The rooms look out on to the river and are more than big enough. There is a small pool, but big enough to ensure that it doesn't feel crowded at any point.

The lodge prides itself on the thought and attention put into the cooking so expect to be well-fed here. There is a small kitchen-garden and locally-caught fish and game is often on the menu! On the subject of fish, the lodge organises boat or shore fishing trips, as well as boat cruises and mokoro trips and a chance to visit a nearby village, an excursion which is thoughtfully organised and does not leave one feeling like a voyeur.
