Rio Hermoso

Rio Hermoso Mountain Lodge is a warm and cosy lodge in the heart of Lanin National Park, a few hours north of Bariloche along the Seven Lakes route and close to the quaint local village of San Martin de los Andes. This is a really beautiful hidden gem that takes you right into the heart of northern Patagonia, sitting on a scenic lake. This is a lovely combination of a log cabin lodge with impeccable boutique hotel style service and unique natural surroundings, well away from civilisation. Native wood and stone is mixed with some contemporary design styling with river, native forest and snow capped mountains all around this Patagonian home.

There are only 7 rooms, two with private terrace and one a larger Family room, all beautifully furnished in clean contemporary style. Your stay here is personalised by staff to suit you – they can arrange hiking, kayaking and canoeing in rivers and lakes, riding, photographic safaris, bicycle rides and fly-fishing for trout. Back at the lodge, after a day outdoors, savour gourmet cuisine that uses fresh locally sourced fare wherever possible. Sundowners in the bar at the end of the day is also something of a ritual to meet with fellow guests. A really charming mountain retreat.
