La Cantera

La Cantera Iguazu is a great value option that offers the benefit of a beautiful location amidst lush jungle scenery. Only a 15-minute drive from the Falls, it is a fraction of the cost of the two hotels located within the national parks and even neighbouring luxury options such as Loi Suites, but has all the benefits of the same natural surroundings. The property features a large pool with wicker loungers, and daily jungle walks, guided bicycle tours, or car rental are also available upon request. The property was built to have a minimal impact on the surrounding forest.

The restaurant serves pretty good international fare with a few local specials but you may wish to venture out to other local options as well during your stay, using the hotel’s own courtesy shuttle bus several times daily into Puerto Iguazu. The decor is sympathetic to the surrounding jungle, with clever use of natural materials and subtle jungle touches throughout. The superior category rooms have a large private balcony with jungle views, jacuzzi tub and are closer to the main hotel area. Note that rooms are set over two floors with no lift between them in attractive wooden cabanas. A well-located, simpler option that offers good value in a generally expensive location.
