Fishing is the primary attraction of this area, with people losing themselves for days along the forest-flanked riverbanks, mesmerised by the tranquillity and remoteness. However, there are also a number of walking and cycling trails along the valley, several golf courses, and some uniquely local attractions such as the Atlantic Salmon Museum in Miramichi and the Central Woodsmen’s Museum in Boiestown. Additionally, the Metepenagiag First Nations Heritage Park, tucked away in Red Bank, is a state-of-the-art facility showcasing over 3,000 years of Mi’kmaq culture through visual displays, interpretive exhibits, and demonstrations. Findings from two nearby Aboriginal archaeological sites are on display, underpinning the importance and spirituality of this ancestral home, which is now believed to be the oldest continually inhabited site in New Brunswick.
