The Red House Fredericton is a stylish, welcoming little inn set within a beautifully restored historic home, originally built in 1859. It’s right in the heart of the city, so it works brilliantly if you want an easy base for exploring Fredericton on foot, popping out for dinner, or just enjoying the relaxed feel of this small provincial capital.
There are only four guest rooms, so it feels personal and quietly run, with a real sense of care in the details. All rooms are air-conditioned and designed with comfort in mind, with luxury touches like heated floors, bathrobes and quality bathroom fittings. Two of the rooms, Fowler and Antworth, are shower-only, while another room includes a bathtub if that’s your preference. Guest rooms are on the second floor, and while there’s no lift, there’s a shared reading room up there which is a handy little space to make a hot drink or grab something from the fridge, with a Keurig, kettle and microwave available.
If you’d rather avoid stairs altogether, the Studio is at street level and has step-free access. It comes with its own kitchen and sitting area, making it a great option if you like a little more space and independence, although it’s also shower-only.
Breakfast is included each morning, and practicalities are straightforward with WiFi and parking provided. The only thing to note is that check-in is usually between 4pm and 5pm, so if you’re arriving after 6pm it’s best to give the property a quick call to let them know.
