Down East Comfort B&B is a warm, characterful stay in Miramichi, set in a beautifully restored heritage home right in the heart of town. It’s the sort of place that feels genuinely welcoming, with a calm, traditional atmosphere and plenty of small details that give it a sense of local flavour rather than a generic “hotel” feel.
There are just three guest rooms, plus a separate guest house, so it stays personal and quietly run. The rooms are comfortable and thoughtfully laid out, each with air conditioning, a TV and a mini fridge, and they lean into that classic East Coast B&B style in a way that feels cosy rather than old-fashioned. For a little extra space, the New Brunswick Suite is the largest, set in the home’s round turret with a king bed, a sitting area and a lovely bathroom with a claw foot tub. The Nova Scotia Suite is another great option, also with a king bed and claw foot tub, while the PEI Suite is ideal if you’re travelling with a child, with a queen bed, a single day bed and an electric fireplace.
If you’d prefer more independence, the Newfoundland and Labrador Guest House is a self-contained two-storey apartment in what was once the servants’ quarters, with a full kitchen and living room, and two bedrooms upstairs. It’s a great choice for a longer stop or for anyone who likes having the flexibility to self-cater a little.
A hot breakfast is included each morning, and practicalities are easy with WiFi and parking provided. Overall, it’s a lovely base if you want somewhere with charm and personality in Miramichi, with friendly service and a relaxed pace.
