One of Swakopmund’s most sophisticated guesthouses, set in a striking colonial building in the heart of the old town, Villa Margherita has a unique ambience among the plethora of Swakopmund accommodations. The grand staircases, alcoves and fireplace of the original early-20th century building have been left intact, supplemented by colourful modern art canvases, contemporary furnishings and antique trinkets.
There are eight rooms, each different as befits the design of an old house. Some have separate lounge areas or balconies, but all offer a chic en-suite bathroom, flat screen TV and Wifi access. There are lovely sitting areas throughout the hotel, including by an open fire in the living room at the bottom of the staircase, and outside in the small, attractive garden. Another major attraction is one of Swakopmund’s best dining options, an organic bistro serving meals throughout the day. There is also an in-house massage service available on request, making Villa Margherita arguably Swakopmund’s most decadent guesthouse.
