Your overnight cruise on a Premium Houseboat begins around 12pm, in time for a traditional Keralan lunch on board. The Houseboats are designed in a traditional way; these were once used to transport goods from isolated villages to larger towns and cities and are mostly made from bamboo, coconut fibre, and Anjili wood. The Premium Houseboats are a little more luxurious than the Deluxe Houseboats; these have glass doors and windows, wooden floors and walls, a large dining area and a more modern bathroom and bedroom. The afternoon on board is spent meandering through the backwaters near Alleppey where you can enjoy the idyllic views and daily life that unfolds on the banks of the water. There’s also the option of a canoe ride and a walk around one of the villages later in the day. Please note all food, tea and coffee is included in the cost but alcohol isn’t; if you wish you can buy some when you check in to take on board with you. The following morning you will disembark around 9.30am.
