Our Classic Rajasthan trip is the perfect introduction to this iconic region of India, taking in Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur (also known as 'The Golden Triangle'), along with the romantic city of Udaipur and the blue city of Jodhpur. Between these remarkable cities, you'll stop in traditional villages for the chance to get off the beaten track and get a real taste of rural life in this remarkable destination. Today, your India adventure begins with an overnight flight from the UK to Delhi.
This morning you'll arrive in Delhi where your private car and driver will be ready to meet you. You'll be whisked off to your beautiful accommodation in the city where you can spend the remainder of your day at leisure. We have a host of beautiful accommodation options in Delhi, and as always, will be sure to help select the best option for you.
Today, you'll head straight off on our Old and New Delhi City Tour to get your first real taste of India. You'll have the chance to explore the complete contrast in atmosphere and architecture between the two areas of the city. This evening you might like to enjoy a guided night walk through Chandi Chowk, one of India's oldest markets.
You'll have an early start today for your train journey to Agra: home of the Taj Mahal. On arrival, take a tour of Agra's magnificent sights, including I'timād-ud-Daulah and the spectacular Red Fort, before the star of the show awaits you tomorrow.
You'll have another early start this morning, but with a visit to the Taj Mahal at sunrise when the light is at its best to look forward to, it'll be worth it! After a well-earned breakfast, you'll travel to Ranthambore National Park in the hope of spotting the elusive tiger. You'll check into your camp and enjoy three safaris during your time here.
Today, you'll head our bright and early on a safari adventure before the heat of the day kicks in. The wildlife is often at its most active in the mornings, so we'll keep our fingers crossed that they put on a good show for you! Relax a little over lunch before heading back out on an afternoon safari to tick yet more wildlife sightings off your wish list.
Travel, you'll travel onwards to the Pink City of Jaipur. The journey should take approximately five hours. After arriving in the city, you'll check into your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.
Today, you'll enjoy a visit to the impressive Amber Fort before heading off on a tour of the city. You'll visit sights including the palace, the royal observatory Jantar Mantar and Hawa Mahal. This afternoon, we'd really recommend taking a guided walk through the bazaars to see the talented artisans ply their craft.
Your driver will take you to Shahpura Bagh today, where you'll be staying in the lovingly restored fort. Your journey should take around 3-4 hours, travelling through numerous rural towns and villages en route, passing by farmland as you enter the depths of rural Rajasthan. This afternoon is free for you to relax or head out to explore the local area.
We've left today clear for you to enjoy at your leisure. This afternoon, we recommend heading off on a village safari by bullock cart, luxuriously lined with Rajasthani cushions. The locals are incredibly welcoming and are keen to show you their way of life. Take a cycle ride around the village, or visit the ancestral fort with lake views.
From Shahpura Bagh, you'll continue west to Jodhpur, a journey of around 4-5 hours. Jodhpur, known as 'The Blue City,' is home to the formidable Mehrangarh Fort, arguably Rajasthan's most spectacular fort.
This morning, you'll enjoy a private tour of the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort and Jaswant Thada cenotaph. Spend the afternoon with the Bishnoi Tribe, who are hugely respected for their dedication to conservation and renowned for their unique ceremonies.
Today, you'll continue south to Udaipur. Along the way, you might like to visit the spectacular marble temple at Ranakpur and the impressive Kumbhalgarh Fort, turning your journey into a full day of adventure.
This morning, take a cycling tour through the countryside surrounding Udaipur, for a real taste of what life is like in rural India. This afternoon, you'll take a guided tour of the town and its fascinating City Palace. Udaipur is one of India’s most romantic destinations and a great place for you to end your trip.
Spend the morning of your last full day in India soaking up the atmosphere of this stunning city. This afternoon, your private driver will transfer you to the airport in order to catch a flight to either Delhi or Mumbai. You'll spend your last night in India at a hotel close to the Airport.
This morning, your India adventure comes to an end as you head back to the airport in time to catch your flight back to the UK.
