Visit the famous Bako National Park to spot wild Proboscis Monkeys, cruise the waterways around the Santubong Peninsula in search of dolphins and visit Semenggoh Nature Reserve, home to so many orangutans. Travel onward to Mulu National Park, nestled deep in the wild rainforests of Sarawak. This World Heritage Site is famed for its enormous caves and unique pinnacle treks, so a stay here is perfect if you're looking to stray off the main tourist trail and experience one of the most beautiful natural wonders of Borneo. Today, your adventure begins as you say goodbye to the UK and hop on an international flight to Borneo. If you're travelling from another destination or prefer to arrange your own flights, just let us know, your holiday will be planned to suit you.
You'll arrive in Kuching today, where you'll be met by your friendly driver and guide. With left this afternoon free for you to relax after your flight or take a tour around the city to start learning all about Sarawak’s rich history and heritage before your adventure really kicks off tomorrow.
Today, you'll take a full-day tour to Bako National Park. You'll travel by boat to the beach, arriving in style with the opportunity to jump into the water and wade ashore. Keep your eyes peeled for bearded pigs, proboscis monkeys, green pit vipers, flying squirrels, and tropical birds as you explore the park’s network of trails. You'll stop for a local-style lunch at Park HQ before continuing your wildlife adventure.
This morning, you'll visit the Semenggoh Orangutan Wildlife Centre, arriving just in time for the morning feeding session. Later, you'll head back to Kuching and pay a visit to Sarawak Cultural Village, a living museum set in the foothills of Mount Santubong. You'll explore traditional homes, handicrafts, and the customs of Sarawak’s many ethnic tribes, gaining a deeper understanding of the region’s diverse cultures as you go. We believe that this kind of authentic, in-depth experience is what travel is all about, so today is one not to be missed.
Today, you'll journey into Mulu National Park, one of Borneo’s most special wilderness areas. You'll fly over the rainforest canopy, arriving deep in the heart of the National Park. From here, you'll travel by road to the Park HQ before heading out on a guided walk to Deer Cave, where you'll be treated to the spectacle of the evening bat exodus at dusk. Later this evening, relax at your lodge or luxury hotel, before setting off on a night walk with your nature guide to explore the park after dark.
You'll have a full day at leisure today to enjoy the awe-inspiring landscapes and wildlife of Mulu National Park. Spend the day relaxing or exploring, with plenty of opportunities for hiking, wildlife spotting, or optional guided excursions just chat to us about what you feel you might fancy filling your day with. You'll fly to Sabah today, arriving in Kota Kinabalu ready for the next, more relaxing, part of your adventure. From here, you'll travel to your beach resort, choosing between Gaya Island or the Shangri-La. After checking in, you'll spend the rest of the day unwinding on white sand beaches in a tropical paradise.
