The majority of lodges will offer the opportunity to take bird watching focused walks during your stay, led by specifically appointed guides. Equipped with a telescope, the guide will bring you to some of the best places in the vicinity for seeing birds and bear in mind any particular interests you may have. Over 360 species of bird have been recorded in the Osa Peninsula including both migratory and endemic species, and include an impressive range of trogons, tanagers, ant birds, hummingbirds, fly catchers, manakins and hawks, in addition to more frequently-spotted macaws, toucans and parrots. These walks are usually booked and paid for locally at your lodge.
