Hotel overview

Ilala Lodge has a superb location – very close to the centre of town as well as being the closest of all the hotels on the Zimbabwe side to the Falls. Bordering the national park, Ilala Lodge has views of the “smoke” of Victoria Falls and is a short walk to great viewing points on the Zimbabwe side.

The hotel has recently expanded and the accommodation now includes 56 rooms categorised as Standard, Deluxe, Standard Suites and Executive Suites. With plenty of light from the patio doors, rooms lead onto either the manicured gardens or a balcony, where rooms on the upper level afford a view of the spray of the Falls. Every room has a king sized bed (other than twin configurations which have two generous three-quarter beds), en-suite bathrooms with a shower, bath and bathroom amenities, air-conditioning, fan and tea and coffee facilities. The rooms are all decorated in a contemporary African theme with neutral tones for relaxation.

Overlooking the national park the hotel often gets wild visitors such as warthog and impala grazing on the hotel’s manicured lawns! There is also has a small waterhole in front of the hotel meaning that you can often spot wildlife from the comfort of the pool bar and gardens. Guests at Ilala Lodge can enjoy all that Victoria Falls has to offer very easily die to its central location, including high adrenalin activities like bungee jumping, the gorge swing and white water rafting, to scenic helicopter flights and interactive elephant back safaris.
