A short getaway to experience two superb areas of Zimbabwe – Victoria Falls and Hwange National Park. This week away is for the adventurous and those that want to experience the rawness of Africa without having a huge amount of time to spare. You will visit ‘the smoke that thunders’ at Victoria Falls and can take part in many adrenalin-fuelled activities such as bungee jumping or micro-lighting. You can then visit Zimbabwe’s largest national park - Hwange National Park, famous for its large elephant numbers and abundant wildlife.
Here’s a summary of what you might get up to day-to-day on this Zimbabwe holiday. As always, this is just an idea. Every single day of your trip will be tailored to suit you.
Today you will arrive into Victoria Falls Airport where you will be collected by your driver and transferred to your hotel where you will stay for three nights. Spend the afternoon settling into the hotel. This evening you could stay at the hotel and watch the spray of the Falls in the distance whilst enjoying sundowner drinks and dinner on the terrace.
You will enjoy two full days at leisure to explore Victoria Falls. You could take a guided tour of the Falls by foot. Alternatively, if you are feeling more adventurous you could take a helicopter flight over the Falls, or even do a bungee jump off the bridge into the gorge. There are many other activities that can be discussed.
Today you will be collected by your driver and driven approximately three and a half hours to Hwange National Park. You will be met by a guide from your camp and driven through the park on a minim game drive to your lodge where you will stay for two nights. Enjoy a bite to eat and refreshments before your late afternoon game drive with your guide.
You will have three days on safari with morning and afternoon safari activities such as game drives or walking safaris. Between the safaris you will have time to relax at the lodge enjoying brunch and high tea as well as any game sightings from the lodge itself. In the evening you will enjoy drinks around the campfire and a hearty 3-course meal.
You may transfer to an alternative lodge during your stay in Hwange National Park to experience different areas.
Today you will take a morning game drive to the main gate of the park where you will then be met by your driver who will transfer you back to Victoria Falls International Airport in time for your onward flight.
