Nile Cruise: Mövenpick SS Misr

Hotel overview

The SS Misr by Mövenpick is a beautifully restored steamship offering a classic Nile cruise between Luxor and Aswan, with a real sense of history and old-world charm. Originally built in 1918 and later used by King Farouk, the ship now blends early 20th-century elegance with modern comforts.

There are just 24 cabins and suites, so this is very much an intimate and more boutique-style cruise ship. All of the cabins feature private balconies overlooking the Nile, along with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and plenty of contemporary amenities throughout. The interiors onboard are all inspired by Louis XV and XVI styling with Art Deco touches, so there's a lovely, refined, heritage feel to enjoy throughout.

Life on board is relaxed and atmospheric. Meals are served in an elegant restaurant, while the lounge, sun decks and pool are the perfect spots to unwind between excursions. With its small scale, private docking in Luxor and strong sense of character, the SS Misr is an excellent choice for travellers looking for a more personal and stylish way to experience the Nile.
