Perched on the glorious coast just north of Trincomalee, Jungle Beach is a wonderful retreat and arguably one of Sri Lanka’s best beach side properties. Aptly named, Jungle Beach is hugged by verdant jungle and is a mere minute walk to the 3.5km white sandy beach. The property features 48 earthy but luxurious chalets that are spread throughout the 15 acres. These consist of Lagoon Chalets, Jungle Chalets, Beach Chalets and Jungle Clusters.  All chalets are very similar in size and style; it’s the location and view that are different, with the Beach Chalets enjoying private pathways to the beach. The Jungle Clusters feature three separate chalets with a shared pool. Activities at Jungle Beach are wide ranging and include yoga, jet skiing, horse riding and whale watching. They also have their own boat, taking guests to nearby Pigeon Island for snorkelling excursions. For diving enthusiasts they can recommend a nearby dive centre in Nilaveli. Food is a real highlight here with a serene semi open-air fine dining restaurant close by to the main pool. The beach bar also serves drinks and snacks throughout the day. We feel this is barefoot luxury done brilliantly well.
