Hotel overview

A family run guesthouse with friendly service and a warm welcome. Located in the small town of Chivay, the hotel sits in the heart of the Colca Valley and makes a great base from which to explore the spectacular surroundings. Characterful rooms are simple but have been tastefully designed with colourful Peruvian textiles and handicrafts; many have wooden doors and beamed ceilings. Superior rooms have the added benefit of views over the Colca Valley, and the split level suite comfortably accommodates four and has a Jacuzzi, so is perfect for a family.

Condor's Cross

You will meet your guide and driver to visit Condor’s Cross, a dramatic look out point over one of the deepest sections of the Canyon. The journey is spectacular, and it will take up to two hours to reach the site with stops. Magnificent condors with wing spans up to three metres usually take flight here between 8am and 10am, so do be prepared for an early start. You will pass dramatic lush and arid scenery, agricultural terraces and a huge array of different types of flora including some unusual looking cacti. On arrival do be prepared for a crowd, as this can be a popular spot for understandable reason.  

Excursion

La Calera Hot Springs

Heated by bubbling brooks in the mountainside, La Calera is home to a series of four natural hot spring pools. This area is roughly five kilometres from the small market town of Chivay, so is easily accessible by car or on foot. The springs themselves are pleasant, if not overwhelming, and can attract crowds so do be aware that it can get busy!
