Santiago City: Historical Walking Tour

"Recalling Santiago from its early years" This shared walking tour reveals Santiago's hidden history: through the pre-hispanic civilizations, the country's foundation and the early years of colony. Providing an interesting view of the remains of Santiago’s different times and periods, the tour explores the city’s archaeology, religion, customs and folklore. By the end of this tour you will have a comprehensive notion of all the elements that made up the origin of Santiago. The tour includes Benjamín Vicuña Mackenna Square and Santa Lucia Hill. The tour begins every day at 10am and lasts for two and a half hours.

Matetic Vineyard

The rolling Casablanca and San Antonio Valleys are just an hour drive from the city. Here you’ll find the welcoming Matetic wine estates, which produce some of Chile’s most prominent and high-quality wines. Take a half day trip with your driver to enjoy a comprehensive visit of the vineyards, which will give an overview of the history and production of the wine, as well as the chance to sample of some of the most popular blends. Visits can be extended to include a quality multi-course lunch with paired wines, served in the serene lakeside restaurant.

Santiago City Tour with Wine Tasting

Chile’s capital is a vibrant city full of character, with a thriving art scene, trendy restaurants and lively nightlife. With its mountain backdrop, on a clear day Santiago boasts one of the most incredible city landscapes in the world. With this trip you'll have a full day's tour of Santiago including lunch, taking in some of the highlights of the city, such as the Museum of Pre-Columbian Art, La Moneda, where the current seat of government is located, El Centro’s lively shops and street vendors and San Cristobal Hill, where a panoramic view of the city and the snow-capped Andes awaits. A nice twist is the day’s wine tasting, where you can learn about the aromas, wines and vineyards of Chile in an exclusive cinema room where you will travel through Chilean geography and its wine valleys. Lunch will be served after the tasting, and in the afternoon you will continue visiting the upper part of Santiago.

El Tatio Geysers

You’ll need an early start for your excursion to El Tatio Geysers, which are located a couple of hour's drive from San Pedro de Atacama. These geothermal fields include more than eighty active geysers, with vapour columns spurting from the pools that can reach a dizzying height of up to 12 metres. Enjoy breakfast on site at dawn, before returning to your hotel for lunch. On the return journey, look out for local wildlife including vicunas, foxes and Andean ostriches. This excursion lasts between five and six hours, including transfers and a breakfast enroute, due to the early start. The area is located 4300 metres above sea level.

Santiago City Tour
