El Tatio Geysers

You’ll need an early start for your excursion to El Tatio Geysers, which are located a couple of hour's drive from San Pedro de Atacama. These geothermal fields include more than eighty active geysers, with vapour columns spurting from the pools that can reach a dizzying height of up to 12 metres. Enjoy breakfast on site at dawn, before returning to your hotel for lunch. On the return journey, look out for local wildlife including vicunas, foxes and Andean ostriches. This excursion lasts between five and six hours, including transfers and a breakfast enroute, due to the early start. The area is located 4300 metres above sea level.
