The house preserves an interesting collection of objects gathered by Neruda from local antiques shops or during his trips around the world.

Valparaiso City Walking & Public Transport Tour

Meet your private guide for a full day tour of the fascinating and colourful port town of Valparaiso. Spend the day exploring the tiny alleyways, stairways and plazas on foot and by public transport. The first stop on the tour will be the prominent Echaurren Square, the foundation origins of the port, followed by the old banking area and Concepción and Alegre Hills where many of the handicraft and artist workshops are found. The tour will include journeys on the famous funiculars, which slowly creak and descend the steep hillsides. There is also the option to visit the house of Nobel Prize winner and poet, Pablo Neruda (closed on Mondays). This house preserves an interesting collection of objects gathered in Pablo Neruda’s trips around the world or during his visits to antiques shops in Valparaiso.

El Tatio Geysers

You’ll need an early start for your excursion to El Tatio Geysers, which are located a couple of hour's drive from San Pedro de Atacama. These geothermal fields include more than eighty active geysers, with vapour columns spurting from the pools that can reach a dizzying height of up to 12 metres. Enjoy breakfast on site at dawn, before returning to your hotel for lunch. On the return journey, look out for local wildlife including vicunas, foxes and Andean ostriches. This excursion lasts between five and six hours, including transfers and a breakfast enroute, due to the early start. The area is located 4300 metres above sea level.
