Hotel overview

Los Cauquenes at the tip of South America looks out onto the shores of the Beagle Channel, 15 minutes drive from the centre of Ushuaia in a beautiful wild setting in the shadow of the Andes range. It’s all about the views here. The architecture is traditional Patagonian log-cabin style using the local lenga wood and stone. As well as the classic tours in and around Ushuaia, they offer an extensive list of experiences for their guests, making it the best lodging option in the region. These range from unique treks to glaciers and hidden valleys to kayaking and gourmet dinners on board their private boat, Akawaia, or even a cooking lesson.

It's not a small property with 54 rooms but it is beautifully presented and has some great facilities too because of its medium size. Treat yourself to one of the 5 suites which have private decks and ocean views. There is the excellent Reinamora restaurant which favours local specialities such as King crab and is one of the best dining experiences in the area, complemented by a fine wine cellar. They also do superb afternoon teas. You can get pampered in the spa area with treatments, heated pool, sauna and jacuzzi as well as a gym if activities in the great outdoors aren’t enough.
