Waters Edge Eco Lodge

Hotel overview

Waters Edge Eco Lodge is a peaceful, Indigenous-owned lakeside retreat on Greig Lake, set within the forests of Meadow Lake Provincial Park. Run with pride by Waterhen Lake First Nation, it blends a genuine back-to-nature setting with eco-friendly practices and cultural roots, so the stay feels more meaningful than a standard resort. It’s a brilliant choice if you want quiet lake views, wildlife, and that sense of being properly immersed in northern Saskatchewan, while also supporting the people who have protected this land for generations.

Accommodation is spread across 14 buildings with 29 rooms in total, giving it a low-rise, lodge-and-cabin feel rather than one large complex. The Eco Lodge rooms are contemporary-rustic in style, many with views across Greig Lake, and are set up with either a queen bed or two single beds, with some rooms also offering a private deck for a bit of extra space outdoors. For families or anyone wanting more independence, the cottages are the standout, sleeping up to six and offering a full kitchen, a screened-in deck, barbecue and an outdoor fire pit, with a shower finished with a pebble floor that suits the eco-lodge vibe. The cottages are a short walk from the main lodge and lakeshore, so you still feel connected to the shared facilities without losing that private cabin atmosphere.
