Norris Point juts out in to Bonne Bay, in the centre of Gros Morne National Park, and Neddie’s Harbour Inn sits in a tranquil spot overlooking the water and towards the imposing hills of the park. This delightful boutique property offers excellent service and accommodation, with a selection of comfortable and spacious king or queen bedded rooms, all slightly different in size and décor. The dining room has splendid views and it’s here you can enjoy a tasty breakfast, whilst in the evenings it is taken over by an award-winning chef who offers a creative menu of locally inspired dishes (booking recommended). There is a small fitness room and hot tub and a lovely outdoor seating area from which to soak up the views.

Western Brook Pond Boat Tour

Western Brook Pond is a landlocked fjord at the heart of Gros Morne National Park and offers breath-taking scenery along with incredible tranquillity. This two-hour boat tour cruises past rain-forest clad cliffs and tumbling waterfalls, and is accompanied by interesting commentary on the geology and history of the fjord. This unique environment is also home to salmon and Arctic Char as well as a range of birdlife which you may be lucky enough to encounter along the way. Note: the departure point for the tour is a three kilometre walk from the parking lot. Refreshments are available at the dock (cash only).

This remarkable bay is surrounded by dramatic landscapes, including ancient cliffs, lush forests, and striking geological formations that make it one of Canada’s most spectacular settings. Throughout the journey, live commentary from the knowledgeable crew highlights the geological wonders and rich cultural history of the region. Learn about the unique geology of Gros Morne and gain fascinating insights into the vibrant cultural heritage of Newfoundland. Make sure to keep your camera ready, as Bonne Bay is teeming with wildlife. Eagles soar overhead, moose are sometimes spotted along the shore, and whales occasionally make an appearance in the bay’s pristine waters. Seabirds and other marine life further add to the incredible biodiversity of this unique location. We highly recommend participating in the age-old Newfoundland ritual known as a “screech-in.” This lively ceremony features traditional music, a Cod fish, a Sou’wester, and a sample of the famous Newfoundland Screech rum. Complete the ritual to become an “honorary Newfoundlander” and receive a certificate to commemorate this memorable experience.
