Hawood Inn is a friendly, well-located lakeside base in Waskesiu Lake, right in the heart of Prince Albert National Park. It’s a great option if you want to be close to the action, with the lake, trails and town amenities all nearby, while still having that “in the national park” feel, and it’s an easy drive from Saskatoon for arrivals and departures.
Rooms are straightforward and comfortable, with air conditioning and a choice of bed setups including queen, king or two doubles. Each comes with the practical essentials you’d expect, such as a TV, telephone, coffee maker, iron and hair dryer. If you’d like outdoor space, the Back Balcony Rooms have two queen beds and a balcony facing the quieter rear of the hotel, with some offering adjoining doors, which can be handy for families. The Lakefront Rooms are the pick if you want the views, with two queen beds and a balcony facing the lake, and again some have adjoining doors if you’re travelling with older children or as a larger group.
On site, there’s a restaurant and lounge, a gift shop, and a cosy lobby fireplace area, which gives it a welcoming feel after a day outside. A real highlight is the rooftop set-up, with hot tubs available by reservation and a rooftop lounge area with fire tables, which is a great spot for winding down in the evening. In winter, the inn also offers rentals like skis, snowshoes and kicksleds, making it a useful year-round base. WiFi is included, and there are a small number of wheelchair-friendly standard rooms as well.
