Excellently situated near the key sights of Kanazawa, the Tokyu is a well-appointed, mid-range option in this up-and-coming city.  The big-ticket sights, such as the sprawling greenery of Kenrokuen Garden, Kanazawa Castle and the plethora of museums and galleries, are nearby, and you could practically fall over into the Nagamachi district.  Containing the former residences of Kanazawa’s samurai inhabitants, this historic part of town is a wonderful place to wander before the city wakes up.

Guestrooms are all of a decent size and recently renovated, with all the amenities you will require- including delicious green tea to prepare for yourself.  The colours are muted and unassuming, mixing Western and Japanese aesthetics to good effect.  Breakfast is excellent, though the Western buffet is served in the smaller of the two on-site restaurants. Definitely give the Japanese breakfast, in the Kincharyo restaurant, a go one morning.  For an evening tipple, the Marais D’Or bar serves a good selection of whiskeys and cocktails – a great way to unwind after a day of roaming the streets.
