Occupying the upper half of the tallest building in the Hokuriku region, Hotel Nikko proudly owns the best views of Kanazawa and the surrounding countryside.  Across the road from the architecturally stunning JR Kanazawa train station, the location is also second to none for visitors.  Exploring the city is straight forward due to the proximity of the bus station, where the reliable Loop Bus is ready to whisk you to the key attractions of this fascinating destination.

Walking into the lobby of Hotel Nikko you will be presented with an opulent and stately interior, including a grandiose helical staircase, and will be greeted by ever-smiling hotel staff.  Guestrooms begin on the 17th floor, offering spectacular vistas regardless of where you stay.  The decor is reflective of Kanazawa’s rich history of shokunin (artisan) mastery and craftsmanship – elements of lacquerware and gold leaf adorn the walls, giving a real local flavour to this modern hotel.  Twin rooms will be more spacious than doubles – reflecting the typically Japanese tendency to sleep in separate beds – but double rooms offer good value too, and are still more generously sized than business hotels across the city.

A number of restaurants are spread across the hotel’s floors, with the true highlight being La Plage, perched on the 30th floor, a sophisticated European dining experience where reservations and a dinner jacket are usually required.  For something a little more casual, the various eateries one floor down – including the faultless Teppanyaki Icho – serve up incredible culinary treats alongside unbeatable panoramas.
