Your tailor-made holiday will be as unique as you are. These itineraries are just a starting point, a bit of inspiration to show what’s possible. Your own trip all starts with a conversation with one of our Botswana experts, who’ll take the time to understand what matters most to you and design the perfect holiday to match.
Quite understandably, Africa safari lovers often want to squeeze the magnificent Victoria Falls into their itinerary alongside their time on safari. The Falls' proximity to northern Botswana's safari destinations makes this combination a simple undertaking, with a diverse range of options to suit all budgets and tastes. This suggested itinerary is relatively short at just a week long, dropping in at Livingstone and Chobe before finishing on a high in the Okavango Delta; perfect for those travellers who are looking to really make the most of their time with a trip that really packs a punch and includes some of Southern Africa's unmissable highlights.
Here's a summary of what you might get up to day-to-day on this Botswana holiday. As always, this is just an idea. Every single day of your trip will be tailored to suit you.
Your Botswana adventure begins with an overnight flight from London to Johannesburg.
Board a connecting flight to Livingstone, which should take roughly two hours. Here you will be greeted and transferred to your accommodation for a two-night stay.
You can explore the fabled Victoria Falls under your own steam or arrange to go on a guided tour. There are various other activities that can be booked in advance, such as white water rafting and microlight flights.
This morning you'll be driven to Kazangula border post. After Zambian exit formalities it's a very short ferry crossing to Kasane, where you'll go through Botswana customs. Then it's just a short drive to your hotel for a two night stay.
During your time on the Chobe Riverfront you should try to fit in both a game drive and a river cruise to view the abundant elephants, buffalo and lion.
There should be time for a morning game viewing activity before you transfer to the airport for a flight into the Okavango Delta. On landing in a private Delta reserve you'll be greeted and taken on a short game drive to camp, where it's a three-night stay.
Game drives in the Delta's private concessions are sensational, with off-road driving and night drives firmly on the agenda.
Depending on the time of year and water levels, further activities such as mokoro trips, walking safaris and fishing are often included in your stay on a private concession.
Your morning game drive finishes at the airstrip for a light aircraft transfer to Maun. Then it's a short flight to Johannesburg before an overnight journey home.
