Day 1
Fly to San Jose today. Upon arrival you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel for the night.

Day 2
Today you will travel to Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui, a region of tropical forests which offers a great range of activities for children of all ages. Afternoon free to start exploring or relax by the pool.

Day 3
Today you have a choice of two half day activities from a selection: white-water rafting (two levels), river floating safari, forest hikes, horse-riding, rappelling, canopy zipline, a wonderful interactive way to see the beauty of this region.

Day 4
Leave Sarapiqui today and head for Arenal, best-known for its perfect conical volcano and wide range of tour options in the surrounding forests and rivers.

Day 5
Today’s Pedal Board tour will take you gliding across the calm and peaceful waters of Lake Arenal that sits at the foot of the breath-taking Arenal Volcano, just outside of La Fortuna.

Day 6
Today take the scenic transfer from Arenal to the Monteverde Cloud Forest.

Day 7
Visit a superb cloud forest adventure centre where you can explore canopy walkways suspended in the tree tops and try some further zip lining - take a leap of faith on the tarzan swing if you are feeling brave!

Day 8
Travel to the Northern Pacific coast to complete your holiday with a few days of relaxation on the beach.

Relaxing at your hotel on the beach.

Relaxation on the Northern Pacific Coast. If you find yourself getting restless you could organise activities such as horse riding or a visit to one of the nearby national parks.

Costa Rica is the most family-friendly destination in Latin America, with children receiving a warm welcome wherever you go and plentiful activities on offer to appeal to younger children and teenagers alike. Three main regions will be visited on this itinerary that combine a great range of activities such as a chocolate tour, canopy zip lining, a tarzan swing and cloud forest canopy walkways. However these can easily be tailored to focus more on nature walks and night walks in the jungle, or even more adventurous activities such as rafting and zip lining depending on the preferences of your family! At the end of the tour three relaxing days will be spent on the beach if you are ready to completely unwind before you head home, but this area has a choice of activities within easy reach should you find yourselves getting restless.
